customer 's review (Worth the money)
(Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore BUNDLE)
(Fun family fun)
(Lots of fun but some serious omissions)
(Fun... laugh and decent choices for songs) I bought this for a sleep over my daughter was having. The girls played it for 5 hours straight. Do go and buy a second microphone it makes it more fun. The whole thing with and extra mic is cheaper then a bounce house and you get to keep it when the party is over. My daughter received this game for her birthday. I have heard no complaints. Only that she will not share w/brother because it is her game. As a former "video queen", I need to start playing these Wii games, so I can give a first hand account of product. The vendor shipped it and we received it right away. The game is good family fun. Not as in depth as Guitar Hero or Rock Band. But, fun for a simple karaoke game. I played Karaoke Revolution on the PS2 a lot (I love doing karaoke) and enjoyed it. But, I have a Wii, so I was excited when Karaoke Revolution came out for the Wii.
The simplest way to describe Karaoke Revolution is "Match the pitch and timing of the song to score points." When you choose a player, and choose a song, the song scrolls across the bottom of the screen. Above the song's lyrics, the game shows a simplified music staff with empty note tubes. These tubes indicate a pitch for the phrase.
You fill the note tubes by singing the correct pitch at the correct time into the microphone (you may transpose the song up or down an octave if necessary). After a few phrases, the game shows a mark on the display---and the more notes you hit correctly, the higher you score.
If you enjoy karaoke, this game is a lot of fun. The game even has what it calls "True Duets", where 2 people (2 microphones needed). With True Duets, two people each sing a part.
For a greater challenge, there are 4 difficulty levels. The higher the difficulty level, the more notes you need to get right in a measure, and the more accurately you need to hit each pitch.
To keep things fresh, there are several modes of play, ranging from "Quick play" (just pick a song and go), to various lengths of "American Idol" contests. There are also several ways 2 (or more) players can be involved, such as head-to-head battle, both take part in an American Idol contest or a knock out.
If you wondered "How would I do on American Idol?" this game partially fulfills that fantasy---the 3 famous judges are there and judge you based on how well you do.
So what is the down side with the game?
First of all, there are a very small number of pre-set characters (all the same body type) you can use. You can clothe them slightly differently, but this is totally unlike the PS2 version, where you can choose an exact body type and save the unique character. On the PS2, this allows two people to start with the same face, but customize it differently.
In addition, if you do change how the character is clothed, the picture you see doesn't change. This makes it difficult to find the character you created.
You can unlock more characters, but it doesn't significantly add to the list.
Beyond this, there are no downloadable songs for the Wii version---a feature that was promised but not to date delivered. Even if you love doing karaoke, you'll eventually get sick of doing the same 40 songs over and over again.
Finally, the high score list doesn't keep track of the different difficulty levels separately. This makes the high score useless, because a score of 100000 (Perfect) of Easy will overwrite a score of 90000 on Expert.
If Komani addressed these shortcomings in their next Karaoke Revolution title, I think it would be a best seller for the Wii: add download capability, add much more flexibility to player models, make the high scores separate for each difficulty level.
However, the game is still a lot of fun (if you love karaoke), but it feels cheap and rushed because of where Konami cut corners---player models being the worst offender.
I'm a self-proclaimed-karaoke-goddess and have a lot of fun with this game. It's fun at a party or to sit by yourself and do some crooning. The song selection has some old, some new, some slow, some fast... a fairly good list. I would have rated this a 5 if you could download some more songs. Sad. All in all, a good time and worth the money. Step into the spotlight and become an idol! Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore delivers the most realistic recreation of the American Idol experience with an all-new next generation game engine and 40 smash hits from the 70's, 80's, and 90's and today. Grab the mics and challenge your friends to find out who will be the next superstar and face the music as Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson critique your performances. (Completely addicted)
(One of the better games i've played on wii)
(Medal of honor is a wii success)
(Wish there were more missions) I'd say that offline, this game lacks what a good Medal of Honor game gives, but online and there are roughly 500 people online on a weekday. Its pretty fun. So the only reason it gets a 4 is because of the online play, if it didn't have online play, it would get a 2, sorry EA games. I've always loved shooters but this game was the first one I ever played online with other players. The game itself is excellent and the Wii controls are near perfect, better than other similar games on Wii. I originally rented this game and after playing it online I decided to spend the money and buy it. Now it just stays inside my console all the time. I use the same name on the multiplayer environment as I do here, so if you see me coming, run. I really like the use of the link's zapper and enjoy the wii story, still challenging!
Wish you could play together w/ another person in the same room! To clarify what may other people are saying, the AI is NOT bad. In fact I died on the tutorial level on medium, and im a pretty good gamer. The AI acts looks bad but it is very challenging in some places.
This game is better than the sum of its parts (like the gamestop award). IF you look at everything individually this game is still a good wii title. Though The graphics are average, the sound is good, the campaign is short, if you put all the parts together this game really stands out. The control scheme is amazingly good. Its obvious that the developers put a lot of effort into making the game fun, not artsy. Sure many other games look stunning, or have an encredible campaign, but if you want gameplay over appearance, this is deffinetley the game for you. Put together this is almost as entertaining as Metroid prime 3. EA also supports all types of gamers. Hardcore fans will love the online mode. Casual gamers will love the arcade mode, which i find surprisingly well done, and everyone shoud like the campaing mode, which comes complete with awards, ranks, and stats. By stats I mean how many enemies killed, accuracy%, and how often you have been shot (70 on the first two levels). The controls are also higly ajustable, game designers take notice. In total each part of this game deserves a B-, or a B, but in total I would give Medal of Honor Heroes 2 for wii, an A-, and two thumbs up There are 3 levels, but each one uses the same missions. After you get 100% on 'Green' level you go to 'Veteran'. I expected that with 'Veteren' there would be different missions, landscapes, strategies. But, that is not the case. It seems that the only difference between the levels is, the higher the level, the faster you die when shot and it takes more shots to kill the enemy. It is a fun game, but once you master the missions at the 'Green' level it seems kind of boring to go through the same missions again. Medal of Honor: Heroes lets you become each of the main characters from the Medal Of Honor series. Players can unlock over 20 classic MoH characters to use in multiplayer games adding both variety and personality to their online experience. Travel through 12 unique environments, from rocky coasts of Italy, to the rainy streets of Holland and snowy fields in the Ardennes. ESRB Rated T for Teen Rerations < Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 >

customer 's review (Wii Play Game)
(Great Game)
(It's OK.)
(A decent game but not great)
(Not quite duck hunt!) The product was exactly as ordered with a fair price and delivered in a reasonable amount of time. I am a happy customer. The ping pong game is very addicting! The cow racing game and shooting game are great when 2 people are playing. Too bad this game doesn't have a 4 player mode.
I actually bought a Wii bundle that came with two remotes already so I went out of my way to buy this game only package and it isn't that great. The wife and I played it for a little while but I don't see myself putting it in that often. Basically, this game is a more polished version of various Wii demos.
The games are somewhat fun---though they will probably be more fun for kids than for adults. But, the games themselves aren't exactly classics, just little things to pass the time.
As party games---in 2 player modes---the games are a bit more fun, but Wii Play isn't a superb party game.
If you need an extra controller, the Wii Play with Remote is a good buy. If you want to add a new game for you Wii, this won't be incredibly entertaining, though it will be cute.
If you just purchased your WII, and you want another controller, then this is a nice starter game. Basically, its a tutorial on how to use the WII controller. There are several games that were fun to play, including a new version of duck hunt but I kept waiting to see the giggling dog. :D Rerations < WII PLAY GAME (NO REMOTE) >

Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (An Idea for the 2009 Nicktoons game)
(Fun, not too hard for kids)
(Globs of Fun for the Kids!) I have an idea for the next Nicktoons game in 2009: A new villain wreaks havoc in time. And worse, the Nicktoons heroes as we know - originally SpongeBob SquarePants, Timmy Turner, Danny Phantom, and Jimmy Neutron - have been mysteriously missing. When Jenny Wakeman (XJ-9) finds their help note, she realizes they can be in great peril. So Jenny enlists several other Nicktoons heroes - including Tommy Pickles (from All Grown Up!), Invader ZIM, and Mr. Blik - to time-travel through the Nicktoons universe together, rescue SpongeBob and friends, and stop an ultimate baddie once and for all! I do hope somebody - even Nickelodeon - picks up most of this idea! My 4 year old loves his Wii, but he's in between the easy games like Diego and the harder games. It's hard to find games that don't frustrate him, but he did great with this one. He rented it and now it's on his Christmas list. He can't do everything by himself, but he can do most of it. I also like that even if the character falls into the goo over and over, the character doesn't die, so he can keep trying. This is a great game! Our boys are 5 and 6, so this game was a "gotta try" that ended up being a "gotta have." If you played the Nicktoons Volcano Island, you'll notice some obvious similarities. In short, as you advance to each level a Nick hero is paired up with a Nick villian. It's fun because the hero and villian aren't in the same show. The boys got a kick out of seeing them together. Each character has his/her own special weapon geared to his/her personality. You advance through different stages battling the globs in different settings based on your kiddo's favorite shows. Bikini Bottom is one of our favorite levels. The thing I don't understand is before each level you have to play a short mini-game where the characters slide down the same course collecting coins and avoiding the obstacles. It seems like a filler, although you can upgrade your powers and weapons with the coins at the lab. There is no way to avoid this part, and it's repetitive. The boys think it's okay, although they have started to ask me if they can skip it. In addition, you don't get to choose which two characters participate in the level; those are predetermined. It would have been nice to be able to choose the characters you want in order to try out different weapons on different levels. As you advance, you have major battles with one character at the end of the level. You must defeat him/her to advance. The boys love "beating" this character. I like the teamwork required in this game to advance. Neither of the boys mind being the villan! So far, the boys haven't beaten all the levels, but they do like to go back into the ones they've won and get a better score. This game is worth the money. There's tons of play to be had, and we aren't even close to being done! Enjoy! FYI: This is much better than "Attack of the Toybots." Battle it up with SpongeBob SquarePants Featuring Nicktoons: Globs of Doom. Travel to the familiar locations of Retroville, Amity Park, and Bikini Bottom with any of the 10 playable characters, and defeat the Morphoids in cooperative play as any of the five heroes and/or five villains. This action-packed adventure lets you fight against Globulous in the Globs of Doom. Perform a combination of attacks and combine gadgets with special abilities that are unique to your character's specific personalities.

(Ok for the money)
(It was fun, but then frustrating)
(enjoyed this game)
(safari) This is a fun, interesting game! You can actually learn some facts as you move along and take pictures of the wild animals in Africa!! I am one who gets sick playing 3D and fast moving video games. I cannot play driving games very long, and this one did make me sick as well, so I can only play this for short periods of time. I am an adult and had fun with this game but I can see where it would be especially great for kids to learn and have fun at the same time!! My 8 year old son worked extra jobs around the house to buy this game. He loves it when he plays it, but it is not the best game out there.
The graphics are a little choppy, and even though it says you can play with multiple people, it is not very fun or easy to do so.
If you get motion sickness--beware. The uneven movements can trigger a nasty reaction.
All in all the cheaper price makes up for the graphics. When he plays, my son enjoys it, but he doesn't play as often as his other games. I got this game because I am a fan of Endless Ocean, I hoped it would be like that. When I put the game on and started playing it was really fun. There's action and suspense but it's also good for smaller children. But when I finished the first level, a box came up saying I failed the mission and I clicked OK thinking it would save my photos and let me do the level over again. It didn't! Basically if you don't get all the pictures taken, you have to start all over again. So I thought I would do it later and play some of the mini games, it wouldn't let me! So again, I have to complete a level to get a mini game. So at this rate, it'll take me a wile to finish one level and get a mini game. Overall, I give this game 4 stars. I like taking pictures and animals - different speed/pace of game was a nice break from other games. not very challenging. great for kids who might learn alot about animals. This game is very mellow because there isn't a time limit or parameters set. You can just wander around the safari if you want (the younger kids do that and are happy) or follow the actual game and photograph the animals (which is what I tried to do).
I think it is entertaining for about an hour. At that point I am a little dizzy. The character's camera moves and rotates so well that I need to learn more control to balance things out.
Also my own error, but I don't understand the map graphic that is supposed to guide you (bottom right side). The instructions just said to use it but not how. I have a feeling that everybody else knows how to use it but me. :)
All in all, very cute, colorful, educational, and non-violent. It's nice to have a game where your goal isn't to hunt or shoot the animals. The game helps the user feel incorporated into "the circle of life" on the safari. Have you ever wanted to go on a safari, but don't want to take the risk or spend the money? Explore the wild and capture its natural beauty on film in Wild Earth: African Safari, without leaving the comfort of your home. You are a photo journalist sent on an adventure through Africa's Serengeti National Park to photograph and chronicle 30 different exotic animals, from elephants and hyenas to rhinos. Wander the African territory and take pictures in order to put together "informative magazine-quality pictorials." From running with herds of zebra to following hunting lions and scavenging vultures, you can risk it all to capture amazing pictures. Nabbing the best photo will have to be balanced against drawing too close to the animals.
