(Not very realistic)

(Hard to Figure Out)

(disappointed)

(It's not what I expected)

(Bowling fun)
I waited and waited for this game to be released. At first, it seemed much better than Wii Sports Bowling, but the fun soon wore off.

Multiplayer mode sometimes works, and sometimes does not. Half the time it makes you use the same remote for 2 players. I've found that cancelling out of the game and starting over will allow 2 remotes to be used with 2 players. I think it may have something to do with your choice of players.

I've been playing career mode for about 6 months now, and I am STILL using the house ball. I cannot gain enough money to buy a new ball ([...]).

However, 3 things annoy me the most. About every five seconds, there is a voice in the background. it sounds like an Indian male shouting "Yamani". This is really annoying, over and over and over and over. I have read a ton of reviews and this fact is never mentioned.

Another really annoying thing is the physics and sounds are not at all realistic. When you get a strike - it ALWAYS makes the same exact strike sound, regardless of how you get the strike. You can get 8 pins, and by some miracle the next 2 pins fall - you still hear the same strike sound - yet no sound when the last 2 pins fall. When you hit 2 pins, always the same sound, regardless of how close or far apart the pins are. When you hit a single pin, always the same sound - you get the picture.

Splits are impossible to pick up. You can throw the ball dead in the pocket and not get a strike (I know beforehand by the sound of the pins). But pins bash into each other, yet do not fall. It's like this game is programmed once the ball is rolled - it seems pre-determined how many pins you will get, as opposed to the real physics of bowling.

The third annoying thing is ball control - there is practically none. i can hold my arm perfectly straight throughout the delivery of the ball, yet it will hook left. I deliberately try to hook the ball left, and it hooks right. i don't get it. The screenshots show meters on the screen for accuracy and strrength - where are they?

I still plal, because of all the time I have invested in this game, I am determined to get out of "amateur' status - even though in league Night, I win almost every single game, and by a lot. I generally bowl 180 or better every game in league night - I just cannot win a tournament - then have to start over with 27 league games again.

Baaahhh!

Game came with instructions in French and it is complicated to figure out w/o instructions. Took a month to obtain English info from mfg.
very disappointed in the brunswick bowling, as the instructions were all in french so they were useless. its not an easy game to figure out i have a lot of games and this is the worst one. i would not recommed this game to anyone and a lot of my friends have the wii. thank you carol balch
I love the bowling game that comes with Wii Sports so I was expecting this game to be something like that, but with more realistic characters, bowling alleys and more control over the ball. The graphics are ok, there are several different alleys, but the characters which do look real, don't move very fluidly. It isn't real sharp either as I'm accustomed to with other Wii games.

The control over the ball is nothing like in Wii Sports. In Wii Sports it feels like you're really bowling. In this game it feels very awkward. It seems like the ball goes in a certain direction, no matter what you do. Some people have commented that after you play the game a while and build up some time, the control gets better, but shouldn't it be a game of skill, right from the start?

The voices get annoying very quickly. I was ready to smack my charater after about 10 minutes. Thank goodness you can turn them off. The characters I used seemed to repeat the same things over and over. It seemed like there should be some more random phrases for a little more variety.

I hope there will be other bowling games out there that are more realistic, that have the feel and movement of the Wii Sports version with real looking characters and lots of bowling alley choices. I wish this game would have fulfilled those expectations. If I hadn't played the Wii Sports version before renting this game I might have been happier with it. But by comparison it didn't measure up.

The game is ok. It has some limitations to it. When making your Avatar it limits you options on how it looks. I have had it for about a month now and I play it regularly. It's ok. Not much of a challenge. I have bowled a 300 game on it:)
STRIKE! You're in! Using your Wii-mote, you're entering a bowling alley and are set to play the game with utmost realism while viewing it on your TV through Wii. Brunswick Pro Bowling will give players a detailed, realistic bowling-center experience, complete with authentic sights and sounds, and official Brunswick bowling gear. Brunswick Pro Bowling will be highly customizable, allowing players to choose everything from their character's appearance and accessories to ball styles.

(Waste of money)

(Gloves for Wii Sports boxing only)

(not practical)

(wii boxing gloves)

(Best for Wii Fit)
Ordered to go with boxing game. Found boxing gloves not useble with game need to hold remote and nunchuck in hand, not on back of hand in glove. This was a waste of money. I have no use for the gloves.
If you have a boxing game that requires that you push different buttons for different punches, these gloves and all the other red and black gloves aren't going to help you. You can't reach the controller to push the needed button for say, an uppercut. And, when the match is over and you want a rematch, you have to take off the gloves, pull out the remote to work the menu. Pain in the behind.
Purchased as a Christmas gift for my children to use with Wii boxing game. The gloves were fairly useless. When wearing them, you are unable to press any of the controls on the controllers as they are tucked into the back of the boxing glove ( on the back of your hand). My kids have used them twice ( tops!). don't bother. Boxing game is more fun without them.
these gloves aren't worth the money. it is very hard to get your controller into the glove and once it is in you can't use any of the buttons for power punches.
These gloves work best for the wii fit boxing challenge--not any game where you have to KO someone.
The Boxer Gloves for Wii are perfect for gamers that want to add a touch of reality to their gaming experience. With these gloves, you get the actual feel and work out of being inside of the ring. You no longer have the inconvenience of holding the controllers in the palms of each of your hands. The gloves have a pouch on the backside of the hand that houses two foam cushions that are designed specifically for the controllers to rest in. This way you can punch away like a real boxer and not have to worry about clenching bulky objects. There is also an adjustable Velcro strap located at the wrists that you can tighten to fit the level of your comfort. The Wii Boxer Gloves are a perfect 1-2 combo that is sure to make any gamers, whether novice or expert, experience a knock-out.

(Don't believe the hype!!..)

(Best Spidey game on the Wii yet, which isn't really saying too much)

(Best spider-Man game, with some flaws.)

(Unbelievable!)

(Spider-Man the Way he Was Meant to Be!)
Once again! The Wii gets another port and it has bugs.
The only new thing about this game is the story line and everything else is the same old web slinging around the city fighting thugs and helping the locals.

Most third party developers don't have interest in the Wii, Their too lazy to make games from ground up on the Wii, So they just port them from the PS2 and just add motion controls to them. Just look how they take their time making such top notch games on the other consoles(360,PS3) and the Wii gets the watered down versions(PS2).

Don't cheat your self out of [...]..It's not worth it!
Don't believe the other reviewers giving this rubbish 5 stars, Just because it's Spider-Man don't mean it's a good game.

Spider-Man hasn't had too good a track record on the Wii so far. Spider-Man 3 was awful, and while Friend or Foe wasn't as bad, it still wasn't much of an improvement. Spider-Man: Web of Shadows seems to be a step in the right direction, as this game doesn't feel like just another port, and actually feels like it was made with the Wii in mind. Case in point the Wii-mote and nunchuk controls which are much better implemented this time around, as you swing through New York City taking on baddies. Playing as Spidey and being able to alternate between the classic and black costumes, you swing around New York City cracking heads and saving citizens, which is pretty much what we've been doing since Spider-Man 2. However, what's different with Web of Shadows is that the game rarely becomes boring and the missions rarely become tedious to boot. Also, the game's story is a surprising blast to play through. The longer you play Web of Shadows, the more you'll get enthralled, particularly in its final acts where the symbiotes begin to wreak havoc. The ability to (somewhat) choose your own path depending on your actions is a plus, and there's plenty of appearances from familiar faces on the sides of heroes and villains as well. The only real flaws of Web of Shadows are technical ones. There are some noticeable graphical glitches and sound hiccups, plus a few issues with the in-game camera. Still, swinging around New York City has never been more fun or easy to do, and the game manages to stay entertaining from start to finish. All in all, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows for the Wii finally finds the web-head getting a game on the Wii that's worthy of him. Let's just hope the next time around that Activision and Treyarch add some more polish and really deliver something special.
The last few years have seen a big mess of Spider-man.Films, games based on films...And that killed the games based on the comics. While this game takes more of a comic inspired approach, they go their own way with the story and some other details. Ill let you know what I thought they ddi right, and what they completely burned to the ground.

First off, Wii owners did NOT get a bad port of a PS2 version for once. You get just about everything that the Xbox360/PS3 get, minus the obviously superior graphics.Lets start there-The graphics are not bad.Not the best Ive seen on a Wii game, but it has a much better character model then Spider-Man 3, pretty smooth animations, and a not entirely but still kinda sucky camera. It can slow down a lot in high number fights, but for the most part its smooth.

Controls on a Wii game can make but usually break it.Besides one problem that will pop up frequently, the controls work and feel pretty natural after the small learning curve. With experimentation you will find that Spider-Man has quite a few cool things he can do with the enviornment with the right timing and button, many based on his comic book signature moves. Jump towards a wall, push against it and let go, you will kick off the wall jumping into the air again. Jump at a wall and hit the jump button again on impact, and you will stick to the wall in a classic pose until you release the button. Major comic fans will ove these little things.
There is basically a button for punching, jumping, interacting and using webs followed by waggle control for lock ons, costume switching, web chain attacks, web zips, and just normal web-swinging.
Pros-the combat system is amazing, as it allows you to chain hundreds of attacks together through the air to the ground to the walls.Web swinging is simple and fun again, and does'nt use the horrible nunchuk like SM3.
Cons-You flick the nunchuk left or right to change costumes, and down to lock on to enemies. You should be used to nunchuk waggle controls sucking, and if you arent, well this sucks. You will lock on when trying to change costumes or vice versa in some very bad times.

The storyline is pretty basic, and is really just a way to give you more missions which are pretty much kill everything in sight or save someone.Throw in some cool boss fights, and thats the game.Yes, you will fight a lot.Besides collecting tokens to improve speed and strength, you will most often fight.Did I get it in your head yet? FIGHT.It will bore some people. You can skip most of the side missions if you want so that you fight LESS, but you get the idea.If anything once in a while they could have added a cool button sequence rescue like what was in ultimate spidermans storyline sometimes,so lets hope for some improvememnt here in the future. The list of other characters that you meet or mention is a great bonus for marvel readers though. You even get quizzed on spidey knowledge at one point.Nice.

There are a few glitches in the game that i have to mention.Number one is the buzzing freeze, no explanation needed.I didnt get this untill later on in the game, but it sucks.Other epople online have reported things that vanish, missions that dont show up or parts of missions that dont show up, which allow you to never move on unless you reload the game-I have not seen any of this, but I thought I might as well mention it.

Oddball details will occur-Venom is mentioned as Eddie, even though he looks based on the new scorpion venom design.Things like this make it hard to place exactly when this occurs(though its not canon by any account). But overall, I have had fun with this game and plan on replaying it to get the different ending. It could be better, but is in my opinion the best spider-man game we have to date.

This is the best Spider-Man game ever made. It's even better than Spider-Man 2 which was so good I've played it for over three years - in fact I was still playing it before Web of Shadows was released.

Web of Shadows takes everything was great about Spider-Man 2 and adds more. The combat is simply incredible. Not only can you engage foes on the ground, but now you can take the fights to the side of buildings, and even into mid air (something I have always wanted to do.)The swinging controls are also good and very smooth. All the controls integrate very well with the Wii-mote and nun chuck.

There are lots of things to do in this game, and although the story mode is a tad short, it's made up for by a large number of side missions. But the main draw here is definitely the combat, and this is something that never gets old. Spider-Man Web of Shadows is the Spider-Man game I've been waiting for all my life. Definitely worth a buy!

Awsome Spidey game. Swing, crawl, and fight the way Spidey should have been in all the other games. I have not had this much fun with a spidey game yet. BUY IT,you won't be dissappointed.
A deadly symbiote invasion brings devastation to New York City. In Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, the game is set in an apocalyptic vision of the city. You'll have complete control over New York City's salvation and the fate of Spider-man. It also features an all-new combat system that allows for three-dimensional battles that can start on the street and end up on rooftops. You can also switch between the red and black Spider-Man suits, choose to ally with Marvel's heroes or villains and decide what missions to undertake to save Manhattan from destruction.

Extra Credit - As you progress, you earn experience in multiple combat disciplines so you can custom-design your ideal Spider-Man Instant Replay - dozens of story choices and character customization options

Meet the characters

Ollie Randal

The resident handyman at Icicle Creek Lodge is tired of the wolf disrupting his day and terrorizing guests. Shooting the wolf and mounting it on the wall will solve all of the resort's problems, or so he claims at least. Could he be using the wolf as a cover for his own personal agenda?
Ollie Randal

Yanni Volkstaia

This egotistical Olympic cross-country skier believes his competitors are spying on him and trying to rattle his nerves. The howling wolf and Nancy, he says, have been sent to distract him from his training! What is so secretive about his technique that he would like to get rid of all the guests at the lodge?
Yanni Volkstaia

Guadalupe Comillo

A birdwatcher who knows very little about birds, but plenty about wolves. This suspect arrived at the lodge just as the trouble with the wolf started, and she hasn't been frightened away yet. Is this suspect trying to scare away the other guests?
Guadalupe Comillo

Bill Kessler

An avid ice-fisherman who would like to spend his days catching record setting Northern Pikes at the lodge. The prowling wolf has put a damper on his trip, and he wants it destroyed. Even if it means destroying Icicle Creek Lodge. Could his obsession and hatred cause him to resort to sabotage?
Bill Kessler

Lou Talbot

Recently graduated from the University of California - Brea, this suspect is a lot more mature and sophisticated than he seems. With his handsome features hidden behind his tousled bangs, he's a world of contradictions and complexities. He's the only one who says the wolf isn't responsible for the sabotage, but there's a lot more to the story that he's not telling.

(Much better on the 360)

(Not as little-kid friendly as hoped for)

(NOT MY CUP OF TEA)

(Don't Buy!)

(Great game for the little ones!!)
This is a fun, 4-star, arcade-style racing game on my xBox360; unfortunately the game doesn't play nearly as well on the Wii, probably a porting problem with the Wii's motion-sensitive controllers, but it could also be a system resource thing. I have played other racing games on the Wii that don't have this problem; it's too bad because I really like this game on the 360 but it's not fun at all on the Wii, in fact it's barely playable.
This game is not as little-kid friendly as I was hoping for. While the cars are great and appealing for my 5-year-old son and 3 1/2-year-old twin sons, they had a hard time controlling the cars around the courses and accomplishing the goals. All three of them were frustrated trying to play it. It definitely wasn't those "pick up and play" games. Mario Kart is a far better choice for both little-kids and us adults, and for those looking for an easier "pick up and play" game.

I purchased this game for my 5 year old son and he has played it twice. It was a waste of my money as he is finding it difficult to operate the game. I would not recommend this game for the (wii).
I rented this game from Blockbuster, thank goodness. The idea was alright, graphics average but the controls were awful and sluggish! It didn't seem to matter which car you picked because they all drove the same.
[ASIN:B000TG72RE Hot Wheels: Beat That]]
We bought this game for our 3 year old son. We were looking for a racing game without profanity, blood, etc. and Hot Wheels Beat That only has weapons that slow down the opponents without blood and gore. At first we thought he wouldn't take to playing the game or it would be too difficult for his age, but it took him less than a month of watching us play before he picked up the joypad himself and started playing. After that, he mastered the races in another month. We unlocked all the events and races for him on single player mode and we all play with him on multiplayer. He beats us all (no letting him win anymore) and he loves the drift, draft and jump features of the game. He not only has the highest points in the family, he's already beaten the resident expert in video games (his dad). One thing our son discovered that we don't like much about the game is that sometimes he can make his car jump off the board. The race continues below you while your car floats in the air accumulating points for jumping. You have to quit the event and start it again and you lose your points. It also has a good replay value, because you can open shortcuts that shave off precious seconds of your race time, especially in the eliminator races. Overall, it's a great game for little ones. If you're looking for good, clean, car racing fun, this is the game you want.

Choose your car, grab the wheel, and send Mattel's miniature machines come racing into your Wii with Hot Wheels: Beat That! Players can choose from30 awesome cars authentically modeled from the design specs of official Hot Wheels car models as they compete against friends or the computer AI on an assortment of tracks that run through bedrooms, backyards, and similar neighborhood settings. Each course offers multiple loops, drop-offs, ramps, and jumps, as players race across multiple laps in a variety of life-sized environments to make it first across the finish line! (Best baseball game in a while)

(Great game, some minor flaws)

(Great Game for Baseball Lovers)

(Konami)

(Great for two person play. Solo is too easy.)
Granted, I never had the chance to play the predecessor to this game...but as it stands, this is the best baseball game I've ever played as a video game. The graphics are crisp, the play-by-play is OK (not spectacular, but not distractingly bothersome either.)

Unlike baseball games made by EA (and others), some rookie, light-hitting second baseball isn't going to start hitting 550 foot bombs just because you're controlling them...there is a definite amount of realism here that isn't in other games.

Also...there are tons of modes. Some modes you don't have have to play "baseball," but more of manage it.

The only negative thing that, even after a couple months of playing the game, is the ability to control the base runners. It's way too complex. Something like.. with your left hand fingers, use the nunchuck stick to select the baserunner you want to control, and then with the wiimote hand, control the runner by advancing, returning to the base, or stopping. However, since I can't readily think of a better solution that would allow the flexibility of baserunning, I'll leave it at 5 stars.

Would recommend this game to any true baseball fan...with the ability to trade, and tweak player profiles (for performance), this game will have a ton of replay value...you can always have an updated roster!

This is a great baseball game with a ton of features. This is easily the most in-depth baseball game you'll play, the players are cartoonish and mere caricatures of themselves, but that's one of my favorite parts, to see what a Johan Santana cartoonish looking little guy would look like, the creators of this game did a great job. Creating your own player is really fun, just like creating a mii character. However, when it comes to using that player in the game, you must play success mode (which is easily the worst "game" I have ever played) no joke. It's long and drawn out with a bunch of worthless dialog. It's like a baseball game trying to be The Sims, but there's no real control over it, just stupid draw out conversations like you would see in a pokemon game for game boy. There's no point to it. In that mode, you build your character up with different workouts eventually making it to the pros. Your success is based on those workouts and the way the game is setup, it's basically impossible to make it in one shot. Instead, you have to save, then reload, then workout, then save, then reload... over and over again because there are times you will fail and then you would have to start all over again.
It advertises you can use your mii characters that you've created... but it's in an exhibition game and you don't get to choose which ones you want on the team. Not cool. Besides success mode and the lack of control with mii characters, I would say the "My Life" option is the only other setback. Here you can create your own character, work your way up from AAA (instead of AA like success) and "live the life of one of your favorite baseball players" which means all of the fun stuff I just explained in the success mode, plus you get to play golf, buy stuff to help you workout/train on your own, go out to the movies and oh, did I mention buy random stuff. Like success mode this also does a great job at making you forget that you are playing a baseball game. There's donations to be made and you have to worry about how well liked you are and such, blah blah blah, no thanks.

Sorry, there's one more. There's season mode and league mode. Season mode is what people are used to with baseball games, but you don't just play games like you did for Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball, instead you have to jump on the bandwagon like all the other newer games out there that think you actually want to take the time and manage a team between games. I have to say though, this is the mode I play in and it is really fun once you ignore most of the managing parts. The League mode I just don't understand, I think its for when you have friends over and you want to play a tournament against your buddies, so each picks a team and then you have to play against each other, that's a long sleepover.
If you're lazy, you can actually change all the info on preexisiting characters, give them different numbers, batting stances/swings, pitching forms, handedness, names and skin to
