(The game that could have been....)

(It's ok...)

(boring, poor design, etc.)

(Wasn't what I expected)

(It was ok.)
I bought this game thinking it would have to have at least some redeeming qualities, but I was wrong. I am a big fan of chess and thought that at the very least I would have that. I found it absolutely ridiculous how difficult the AI was for chess. On the easiest level it took me ten games before I finally beat the computer. The game is good for the kids, as it incorporates classic games like "Connect Four", "Battleship", and "Checkers", and if you want to play against other human players, the set-up is good, but the AI on this game is ridiculous. I wouldn't suggest this game to anyone who isn't looking for a frustrating time.
The games are what I expected, but I am disappointed in the overall quality. It appears to be a poorly translated game. So some of the terms used don't necessarily mean what you expect them to. It's a lot of guessing...

And some games just aren't right unless you have a big screen, which I don't. There is a boggle-like game, where you select words from a table of letters on the screen. on my 32 inch TV, the letters are so small, my eyes go buggy after awhile.

I read many bad reviews on gamefly&IGN as well. The music has three songs a jazzy/techno beat (the beat was a decent attempt at being hip)&another jazz like elevator music song&I forget the third. they just bleed together.
The graphics have been around since the original NES - Playstation 1 times probably. There are about 6 different 3D backgrounds, but they still don't add to it.
The menu system could be better, the game doesn't explain it's scoring method or&real quick on instructions on how to use the remote (no nunchuck option). The tutorial for how to play a game can only be accessed after you START a game&decide options which it never explains some of the options that aren't obvious. It does have easy, medium&hard settings. I was hoping/EXPECTING a training option for games, especially chess (I've never played), but beyond a 31 page 1 paragraph text&simple flash graphic example, it does not.
Now, board games are about strategy, right? Well, on ALL games, it highlights ALL possible moves it designates, EVEN on the HARD option.
CLASSIC GAMES
Chess - self-explanatory, simple boring graphics, anything you'd find on a multi game PC title eve up to 10 years ago.
Checkers - I kicked butt on Medium though been too many years since I played. On hard, it kicked my butt. I started remember the strategies... then realized I wanted to make a perfectly fine safe legal move away from other opponents, but it would NOT let me. It wanted me to jump my opponent which would result in my piece getting jumped as well which I didn't want to lose. WHAT KIND OF GAME DOESN"T LET YOU CHOOSE YOUR OWN MOVES? Sure it helped to let me know I could do a move I didn't realize, but why limit you to the computer's CHOSEN moves which resulted me in always losing?
Reversi - I can kick butt on this game every time usually because of ONE easy strategy. the boarder titles are KEY&ESPECIALLY corner pieces. it's easy to figure out. But even on HARD the computer couldn't figure that out. Again, it highlights all choices though I don't think there was a limit like checkers. Another issue I think once I hit A (selected) a piece, I could not unselect it so I was stuck.
Backgammon - I forget how to play&the instructions still left me confused, so I did not play.
FAMILY GAMES
Jigsaw Puzzle - very hard pictures like a far away shot of an oil tanker in a cloudless sky in calm water. A dark shadowy sailboat at twilight so it was all in different colors of blue only. A panda surrounded only by bamboo leaves. The pieces move along the bottom like a stock market ticker&you pick it up as it passes. You have to guage where the peice would fit almost perfectly even in the middle even if it's the first piece. OH!&the best part? The indicator in ALL the games is a small hand.. so when you have a piece in your hand, it COVERS it as you rotate it&decide where it fits.
Backgammon - I nver played it, the instructions made it seem like a very boring, with less strategy involved then even checkers. All possible moves were of course highlighted.
Wordcubes/Boggle - make words by selecting letters that touch each other. When play alone, it doesn't even give you a computer opponent like the other games.
Naval Battle/Battleship - graphics circa 1985. Getting bombs to hit took several attempts, it would make the square turn blue if missed&red outline of a square if hit w/sound of explosion. woo hoo. If found the full ship, it would show an outline for a second&then only the outlined red squares again. A faster but more mindless version of the game.
STRATEGY GAMES
Mahjong - I have an old CRT 27" (I use s-video cable for the wii)&sitting close I had no problem reading characters. I like the game overall, but I find Vista's much more engaging. Any tiles you cannot select because they are blocked are shadowed in grey instead of beige.
Connect Four - just like the board game except they look like red/yellow bulging tires or donuts with graphics from the 1990s.
Sudoku - did not play
Gomoku/Pente - never heard of it before, but played it&loved the style of game.

Some game boards are shown in easy, boring, top down view, some like Gomoku were on an angle to give it a 3D look.
This is another shovelware. The developers like most bad third parties think the secret to casual games is just slap an easy game w/o any attention to details, unique style, etc&consumers will still love it. They don't care, use limited budget, use their first timers or worst employees for these projects&give them little time&it will still sell. This game needed a human voice, profile options, explanation of scoring&better graphics.

I bought this game because I thought it would be fun to have board games on the Wii -- something I've wished that gaming companies would do for a long time. (I love PC games like Mah-Jong, etc. and really wanted that in the Wii format.)

I found this to be slow and, even on a 41-inch HDTV display, it's hard to see.

Not the first game I would recommend.

Guess I expected more being a Wii game. But it is a board game. Played some but not enough excitement in it.

(Another Adult Hooked on Petz Sports)

(fun game)
I bought this because I compete dogs in dog agility. I couldn't help myself! What a fun game. Not terribly difficult to figure out, so kids can play, but entertaining enough for adults too! I wish I could get my dogs to weave through the weave poles by pointing the controller at them! :) The dogs in this game are well done. Realistic in their looks and mannerisms.
Got this for kid's for x-mas. opened it to see what game was all about. Loved it cant set it down. Think mom might be playing this more then kid's! You can dress your dog, which is fun, but the race games wow! what a blast! jump ropeing a little hard to get the hang of but still fun. A great game over all easy enough, but i think the kid's will love it and adults who love dogs will too!

(GOOD GAME)

(Good series, disappointing Wii version)

(Overly touchy to controller response)

(AWFUL MUSIC,,,,CAN TURN IT OFF BUT)

(The online play makes the game)
My 9 year old loves this game! He received it for his birthday and plays it all the time. It was easy to control and play.

Usually, these games are easy to play, easy to have fun with, and even easier to get into. However, this game falls a bit short with the Wii.

First off, just letting you know that the controls are awkward. VERY awkward. I only tried it with the Remote and Nunchuck, and I was still having a hard time. I was afraid to try the game with my Wheel.

Then the online system itself is messed up. I wish I knew before hand that it was basically impossible to join a stranger's match. Then again, the whole friend code thing is a sham to begin with.

So basically, a mediocre game with mediocre online support. I only recommend this title if you're that much of a fan of these games.

The concept of this game seemed cool, but my boyfriend and I both tried it, although he did better then my, we both felt that the games response to the controller was too touchy, it made game play totally unenjoyable for me, the slightest little move on my nunchuck and the bikes were all over, I basically had to let go of the gas to even get around turns well, and even then it was still next to impossible. Although we have not had our Wii long, this is the first game I have played and just REALLY been unhappy with it, this game underplays what great ground breaking Nintendo has done with the wireless remote and virtual play.
IF YOU LIKE HARD ROCK, THEN I GUESS YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO TOLERATE THE GAME AND BECOME PROFICIENT. I AM A BABY BOOMER AND COULD NOT GET PAST THE AWFUL YELLING NOISE THAT THEY USE FOR BACKGROUND MUSIC. HAD TO GIVE IT TO MY 36 YEAR OLD SON-IN-LAW. HAVE YET TO GET HIS REACTION.
I'm actually pretty impressed with the graphics of this game. Of course I've never owned a PS or spent hours zoned out on the tv in my moms basement. I have a 46" 1080p lcd television and it looks pretty damn good. The game itself does take some time to get used to, especially the very poorly designed menu system. Here are a few tips: if your not going to clear a jump mound nose down and ram into it, you will slow down, but you wont fall off. If your struggling with the backflip: you have to hold the two buttons on the nunchuck and push forward on the nunchuck joystick and then when your about half way up the jump let go of the buttons and pull down on the nunchuck joystick. I couldn't figure it out for a while because you have to pull back much sooner that i thought. So if your like me, and don't have any friends that are interested in playing this with you then the online play is killer. you may have to wait while it searches for a game to join for up to 5min, but you will eventually get somebody to play. Sometimes i get spanked by what my wife thinks is 8yr old girls, but sometimes i get someone at my level and then it is super fun. Without the online play these type of games would get boring, but playing random people everytime you sign on is very cool. Buy the game and have some fun!

(Good game could be better)

(damn ww2)

(Shipping fast!)

(One of my Favorites)

(Boring)
I was all around disappointed with the Wii World WarII games. But out of all of them I think this was the best (don't be a fool and buy medal of honor heroes 2 this is better). If you want a decent WWII game for the Wii buy this one.
here we go another ww2 game....like we need it but hey what ever its what the fans love.ok alot of people are giving this game bad reveiws just because the controls are horrible well there really not i do them almost perfectly and its because i turned down the sensativity on the wii remote so people the controls dont suck its you who suck and the graphics are pretty good not ps3 xbox 360 good but there good for the wii. And another thing the only thing bad about this game is that its way to easy i beat it in about a day and that was on and off of my wii so ill go through my cons and pros
PROS...
-graphics are moderate
-gameplay is good
-controls are easy(except for u noobish people out there)
-the cars, tanks are pretty cool to drive
-Cons.....
the jeeps are a pain to drive just because you have to hold ur remotes weird
-no multiplayer
-way to easy
-graphics again are ok at best
-to short
-the guns are same old same old
so overall i would give this game about a 4 i would have liked it better if it had wifi and good game for that would be medal of honor heros it has good wifi

COD fan NEWS ...and other game fans

They are shipping very fast ( as the same day you place your order ). The game is shipped in good condition.
This is the best game for bringing you into the heat of battle. I thought that the story was awesome and I really liked how accurate it was to what really happened. The controls take a while to master, but once you do it is really the most percise controls on the wii. I also liked the personalitys of the characters, they were interesting and believeable. To you out there who get bored with predictable gameplay, never fear there are quite a few different actions that are done with the wiimote which include hand-to-hand combat, driving a jeep and a tank (very fun)and even useing mortor in a few instantces. The game is not short by any means, but once you master shooting behind cover it will make near impossible to die. Also for you out there who love to pick of enemy troops one by one with a sniper, you will be be very happy with one of the last levels where it is a sniper's pardise, you are shooting from a house window where you are rarely shot at and you have a lot of targets and over a hundred shots(my favorite level)Well I will end this review by saying that you have got to get this game.
The wii controls are horrible. You can't skip the extremely boring 5 min between level movies at all and you have to rewatch them every time you put the game in. Terrible graphics. If you shift palces on the couch your game view spins around wildly. Waste of money and I only payed $16.

(Much better)

(Pretty much crap)

(Not a dream come true, but a decent step)

(wii penguin gun)

(AWESOME !!!!!!!!)
shooting games on the Wii are just TONS more fun with this Magnum Gun. Now I can kill zombies without fear!
I picked up this gun attachment at a local store tonight, and after having played with it for just a little over an hour, I can definitely say that I'm sorry that I spent the $9 on it that I did. Here are a few of the reasons that I hate it:

1: Getting the Wiimote in and out of the thing makes you feel like you're going to break it. There are no instructions included with it showing you an "Easy way" or "The Right Way" to get the Wiimote in, you just have to kind of force it in there and bear with the creaking and (shudder) cracking plastic noises you hear while you're shoehorning everything together.

2: Anti-ergonomic design. Yeah, I've got big hands, but honestly... sharp stabbing edges at the back of the gun above the handle? Why? When trying to hold the guy the way a gun should be held, these corners wear my thumb knuckles raw. Ouch.

3: It's It's NOISY! When trying to pull the trigger repeatedly and quickly, this squeaky-squeaky-bang-bang will drive you mad. I'd try adding some kind of lubricant to the plastic parts that grind against each other to help deal with the squeaking, but I don't want to get oil on my hands every time I want to play with this, but that wouldn't help with any of the interior plastic parts banging against each other on each squeeze and release.

4: This is my biggest issue with the device. The trigger has it's own spring mechanism which is too strong to allow the player ANY level of rapid firing, and you need to pull the trigger back almost a full centimeter(!) to get this thing to fire. Too much resistance plus too much distance before results. What does that spell? My trigger rate dropping from something in the area of 10 shots per second with my Nintendo Zapper to something more like 2 or 3 with this atrocity.

Overall rating: It made me bleed. Literally. FAIL.

I've worked with it a little and like it. I personally prefer a 2 handed shell, but the Zapper is too short for me. The one handed magnum is the best alternative. It's a little hard to get the remote into the shell with the plug immovably in the way. Otherwise, it's not bad.
I found the gun difficult and very stiff when pulling the trigger. It is true that you have to pull the trigger way back can even make your hands sore. It is a great idea but a clumsy model. No smoothe firing
My son and I love this gun. We have hours of fun with it. No complaints at all.
CTA DIGITAL WI-LG Wii Magnum Gun. With this palm fitted virtual gun, no enemy is safe in your crosshairs. Its gives it a feel of authenticity with its life like mold, yet cannot be mistaken for a real gun with its white plastic facade. Its smooth grip and texture along with its lightweight material makes it comfortable for extended play. Simply by placing the remote in the top cradle of the gun, you are ready to engage in virtual combat, all you have to do is aim and shoot.

(worst horse game for wii yet)

(what were they thinking!!!)

(discouraged)

(My horse and me)

(Great Stuff My Daughter likes it)
the game has no challenge, its boring and lifeless compared to the others. The main thing you do is make the horse your riding go around in circles in crappy graphics and get stars. Wow, exciting. No beleive me i though this games was going to be the best of the best from all the reveiws I had read on it, i was ecstatic to receive it. But once I started to play, i look down in it in a condecending way, it horribly boring! After a total of maybe, and im exaggerating here half and hour of game "play" i was finished with the thing. That game could give somebody depression i was so god awfully bored. Never again will i by a this game, or recomend it.
poorly desing game,
none of my girls want to play it. unresponsive and complicated.
too bad.
it seemed to have potential, but the way it was desing to be played was a turn off for the girls.

I bought this game for my daughter who loves horse games. But she was rather confused on how to control the horse. IF you are thinking about purchasing this game you might want to make sure that this is what your child wants. It is rather hard to understand in controlling the horse. Just be aware that your child might get frustrated with it.
This game is soooo much fun! I have my own pony at home and its just like I' riding him. In the game you really get to brush and control your horse. If you love to go riding now you can do it on a crummy day in your house. The game has plenty of levels and different courses for you to try so there is always something new. This game can be used for more than one person which is great each person can have his or her own account and horse.
Overall I would recommend this game to any real horse lover!

Hi .. I sent this video game to my little girl for her 8th birthday .. she said "it's cool Dad" . So I supose thats good for me .. Pick this up for your kid and you can be cool for a day as well .
