I can't say that about any other game we have played together. There are a whole lot of mini-games here and some are real gems. Initially you have to unlock many of the games and there are a lot of trophies/posters to get as well. I strongly suggest reading a FAQ sheet before you get started. The manual/game do not go over the unlockable progression sufficiently and it is easy to muck things up and not be able to unlock everything. The games are all simple, yet I was surprised how challenging it was to open up all the games, levels, posters and trophies. Even with the ability to adjust computer AI and handicap Human players, it took us a good couple weeks to unlock everything. After beating the game you get to view your very own SpongeBob episode and can pick and choose different characters to play different roles each time you view it. You also get to set up your own competitions, choosing whatever mini-games you enjoy most to play. The flexibility of choosing which games to play, how smart each computer player is and how easy the games are for each human player are what have made this game so enjoyable for us. I can set the game-controlled character/s to normal, my daughter and wife to easy and myself to hard and it levels the playing field perfectly. The game has its flaws to be sure, but it really captures the fun of the show and characters and what it does right more than compensates for its shortcomings. If you have kids that love spongebob and you want a good family party game to play with them, look no further.』
(Great) 『For those who have been playing previous titles such as "Battle for Bikini Bottom" They may not care for this game. It does clearly state on the box that it is a full-fledge party game. For people who didnt read, well thats there problem.
Anyways, This is a great game that you can play over and over again. It has 30 unlockable mini-games, and a 30 minute mermaid man and barnicle boy episode you can re-watch = using game console graphics to. They go from anything like racing, to matching patterns, to colour matching, and even plain old chance games (aka rock paper scissors!) I recommened this game to anyone who wants a fast-paced game that they never would get tired of. Its completely family-friendly and great for up to 4 players. There are mini games that consist of players playing soley for themselves, and mini games where you have to work together. Its and excellent blend of teamwork and cordination.Good luck! 』
(My kids like it and so do I) 『Many levels but some are hard to pass but a fun game overall.』
(My oponion for Lights, camera, pants!) 『I really like it beacause I love the mini games except for one,....BLISTERING BARNCLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I hate that game so much!!! But ROCK BOTTOM is so GREAT!!!!!I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I always put it in when I do tounament!!!!!!!!!』
(Lacks mario party spirit but succeeds well.) 『I got this game for christmas 2 days ago and I think this game is great! There may be only 30 mini games (the mario party series has around 50+) but each of them are really long. So it's not that big a deal. In the game you can do story mode and play bronze, silver, and gold mode after you beat each one. By doing that you can unlock trophies, action figures, and mini games to play in tournament mode, where you can play up to four players. Overall, this game was worth my time and i'd suggest it to long-time spongebob fans.』 『Bikini Bottom is abuzz! The producers of everyone's favorite superhero show, "The Adventures of Mermaidman&Barnacleboy," are filming a special episode in Bikini Bottom and using the locals as actors. All your favorites are desperate to impress the talent scouts who have created a series of action-packed challenges to test the wannabe stars. Join SpongeBob, Patrick, Sandy, Squidward, Mr. Krabas and Plankton as you compete against your friends for 10 different roles, including the coveted super villain role.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Lots of simple fun) 『This is a really cool game. Sure the graphics are not cutting edge, but it is based in the Cold War 1950's and has a cartoon edge to it. The game play is pretty straight forward and simple to pick up. The weapons start off fairly week, but as the game progresses you accumulate more and more DNA you can start upgrading everything. One aspect I really like is "Scanning" random people walking by and reading their thoughts. Obviously the developers had a great deal of fun with this are there are a lot of different thoughts ("That guy Nixon sure is a swell guy"). The women usually have the more interesting thoughts. The basic game play is blow stuff up, kill (or anal probe) people, harvest their brains for DNA, try not to die, get upgrades, repeat. All in the name of rescuing your cloned previous version who was shot down at Roswell.』
(ABSOLUTE FUN.) 『LOVE IT. Was in excellent condition. Was a little disappointed that it did not come with a manual. But it is easy to play, and alot of fun. Good to play after a stressful day dealing with idiots all day. Love it. Good revenge game. Not to mention funny as hell. Could do without the killing of animals.』
(A disappiontment) 『I got this game off the discount rack at Wal-Mart. I enjoyed the ads for it. The game itself wasn't as exciting as I thought it wouuld be.』
(Great, original game) 『This is a brilliant, original game that is humorously fun. in the game you are an alien sent to earth to "harvest" human's brain stems to save your dying race. this game is a good shooting game, but it is the humor that really puts it over the top. the graphics are good for the most part, but there may be a minor error at certain times, but you will be having to much fun to notice or care.the humor mostly comes from Crypto's(the alien's)smart remarks, but other humor comes from the stupidity of the humans and zapping them with your anal probe to watch them grab their buttocks and flee. All in all this is a funny, original game that anyone who likes video games would enjoy.』
(Christmas Present) 『I purchased both 1 and 2 for my son and he likes them both.』 『Use destructive weapons and innate mental powers to take on the most feared enemy in the galaxy...Mankind! Play as Crypto, an alien warrior sent to Earth to clear the way for the Furon invasion force. Your mission is to infiltrate humanity, control them, harvest their brain stems and ultimately destroy them. You choose the method infiltration or disintegration.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The most overlooked, underrated Medal of Honor) 『I didn't have huge expectations for Medal of Honor: European Assault. Based on the flawed Pacific Assault gameplay, which was itself a variation of the Rising Sun formula, European Assault seemed at first like too bland too late. But after completion, I realize what a gem this one is.
European Assault puts the player in command of a four-man squad, able to issue very basic move and attack commands. Missions play out similar to the first Call of Duty scenarios, mixing Russian, British, and American campaigns. Although treading old territory, the varied and somewhat inspired architecture of the levels keeps the game interesting and unique. Throw in sharp 480p widescreen graphics, nifty lighting technology, and a few bonus areas and objectives, and this is probably one of the best WWII games on previous generation consoles.
The squad AI is surprisingly good; they generally make the right moves in terms of cover and targeting. I enjoyed the challenge of trying to keep my entire crew alive throughout each mission, as they're actually quite helpful in tough spots. I miss Pacific Assault's innovative corpsman approach to health management, as E.A. falls back on the health canteen standard here. What is somewhat innovative is the rapid disappearance of dropped health and ammo pickups. This forces you to advance the squad in a timely, systematic manner to gain territory. Playing passively actually will get you killed in E.A. It's an enjoyable challenge once you understand it.
Controller setup is slightly more complex than old MoH games, but once mastered, the control scheme is nearly perfect on the Xbox gamepad. All of the weapons look and sound as great as we've come to expect in Medal of Honor games, and the analog movements are perfectly tailored to strafing and sighting. European Assault is perhaps the most open-world structured MoH game to date, with quite a few large maps allowing flexibility of attack. I don't think I've ever enjoyed replaying Medal of Honor levels just to try new attack methods, so that's quite a compliment here. There are even sub-objectives and bonus areas in each mission that reward the player with revives (essentially extra lives). Enough effort was put into level design here to make me forget about the truly awful Rising Sun.
A few flaws with European Assault prevent it from being the definitive best-ever MoH game. First is the somewhat repetitive mission structure. Each features a fairly predictable request for documents hidden somewhere around a rather arcade-like boss fight. While still fun, these Germanic supervillains detract a bit from the realism. And the squadmate AI, while very good, sometimes suicidally refuses to run from grenades or take cover from enemy gunfire. And there is no long-distance "stay" command for the group, meaning you can't flank an enemy while they supress.
If you haven't had the pleasure of this well-rounded game, dust off the old box and try it out. European Assault will surprise you with a few new tricks while still retaining that classic Medal of Honor series feel. 』
(NOT AS GOOD AS CALL OF DUTY 2 OR BROTHERS IN ARMS:EARNED IN BLOOD!) 『MOH:Frontline was good "Rising Sun" was krap-MOH:EA is alright-but ever since MOH got itself some rivals which are the COD and BIA series-MOH has been falling into third place why, here is what COD and BIA have that MOH don`t: COD:-Authentic gameplay -You can play in both USSR and British militaries aswell as USA.
BIA:-Tactical gameplay -Realism -Squad control
MOH:F was only good because COD or BIA wern`t out at the time.but MOH better be better next time or MOH won`t be in the competition anymore it will be COD vs BIA.European Assault was good but again not compared to its COD and BIA counterparts(COD2:Big Red One and BIA:Earned In Blood). still a great game though-but EA better bring there A-Game next MOH as COD and BIA are expanding. Have you noticed that "Run N Gun" games are becoming a thing of the past infact when a game gets called a Run n Gun-its actually an insult no as most military action games should have strategy, strategy is in stealth games and of coarse Tactical Shooters.Bye』
(Too hard???) 『I've read a previous review that this game is too hard on the normal level setting. That is simply not the case at all. This game was made to be realistic in many aspects and I believe that it is VERY accurate on gameplay and the amount of shots a player can take before being killed. This game is no stand-up-run-around-directly-up-to-the-krauts-and-shoot-them-dead-all-the-while-taking-rounds-and-living type game at all. It requires that you move and act like you are fighting in a real war while taking cover and dodging enemy fire and being TACTICAL. Imagine yourself being fired upon by rifles in real life and not taking some type of cover. This game is way beyond the 1990's Doom first person shooter and I'm glad of it. The fact that it takes 2-3 hits from enemy fire before having to seek medical attention in the game is actually pretty lenient if you ask me and if the game is played smartly there is plenty of med kits to pick up and use. This is not the game for you if you're the type that likes to run through a $30-$40 game in a few hours and be done. The object is to play the game and enjoy it, not see how fast you can finish, that's pointless and impossible with this game. I'm playing the veteran level now and the challenge makes the replay value of this game very enjoyable.』
(WORST MOH on the market !!) 『stay away from this game it will reel you in and never truley let you go,seriously!im not joking, this is the game puts a new meaning to the MOH series...lame,dumb,and stupid.Surly if you have never played a MOH and you just happen to try one out,and you for some odd reason you choose this one,you will ask yourself "OK lets see,i went to school, right yeah, yeah but i dont get it i was the smartestone in class, and i always had good jugement and i always put it to good use,i dont see what went wrong, this LOOKED to be a promising game uh its the worst ever!oo I know i will take it to the back yard and blast it full with buckshot!,yeah thats good or i could burn it,desisions,desisions...".but let me see this game is so terrible it makes the "gerries" whimper because they dont want to be shot,by such idiots with the IQ of a 2 year old broke loose with a thompson...yeah thats one, maybe its because they arent dying because the ally soldiers cant shoot worth a $#!%...yeah thats probably it.OK lets move on the graphics arent realistic at all,for example CMIS Grimes looks like Big Bird...catch phrases and all,the voice acting is quite satisfying in a weird way...the accents are well done so i suppose i cant say anything on that really you know what i mean?though i must say that the middile of the level boss fights are fun but for no more than a few times through, the way the health bar for the boss is designed is really cool.this game is a bit further as far as freedom for a war game you know like the adreniline attack is also really cool.so in closing im just go on and say it so here it is...F*** IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!』
(Frustratingly hard...) 『Graphics/sound: a slight improvement over Frontline (don't know about Rising Sun; haven't played it).
Multiplayer: yawn.
Playability: okay, whatever. Playing this game, you get the feeling the designers are Nazi sympathizers who're annoyed Germany lost WWII, 'cause all the German soldiers in this game are only a sprocket away from full-on cyborg invincibility (this on the "Normal" difficulty level).
The German soldiers are WAY more accurate than you - YOU have to hit 'em 6 or 7 times to waste 'em, while THEY can deprive you of life with a single bullet or two (the only exception to this is during the 2.5 seconds you actually get to use a sniper rifle).
Especially the Stalingrad levels (which is a misnomer, 'cause you're never really IN Stalingrad) - man, those are SADISTICALLY hard - I swear, the "Normal" difficulty setting is like "Ultra Super-Hard Champion Annihilation" mode in these levels.
Note to game designers/developers: making a game really effing hard (thereby making it take longer to finish) doesn't increase length - it's like they're trying to fool us into thinking the game is longer than it is only 'cause it took forever to finish 'cause it was so ridiculously HARD - NOOOO, GAME DEVELOPERS, NOOOO, THAT'S NOT HOW YOU ADD "VALUE" TO A GAME!!!
This game is ridiculous. I'm not a glutton for punishment, but I love WWII shooters, even the mediocre ones. But I can't forgive cheap death after cheap death after cheap death, with which this game is astoundingly plagued. Enemy soldiers seem to materialize out of thin air, or out of your pants - it's like there's a German solider in your pants at the beginning of the level, and then 75% of the way through, when you're low on ammo and health, THAT'S when he decides to pop out and blast you - "Surprisen, mein herr!" KA-BOOM!
Now, I made it through Frontline and Call of Duty 2 just fine on their "Normal" difficulty settings, but European Assault is ridiculous. There're only four levels, and the difficulty ramps up dramatically (and unfairly) with the Stalingrad levels - it's like the developers realized the game was going to be short and decided to "toughen things up" so it'd take longer to beat, which (they hope) would make you think you've played a longer game than you really have.
Is this just me, or did anyone else out there have a similar experience? If so, let me know...』 『Europe 1942. These are desperate hours for Allied forces as the Nazi war machine rages across a devastated European landscape. You are US Army Lieutenant William Holt, hand-picked by William ?Wild Bill? Donovan to be the first field agent of the newly formed Office of Strategic Services-the OSS. Medal of Honor European Assault makes you the driving force in the struggle to liberate Europe.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (The SIMS) 『This game was not as fun as the newer version (SIMS 2). It was a lot harder to understand, but it was okay for those that have the time to read cheat codes to find out how to operate the SIMS. I rate this a C-』
(What a Disappointment) 『After getting hooked on this game by my sixteen year old son, it took me about three weeks to pretty much master it. Imagine my dissappoinment when, after learning most of the tricks to keep my sim healthy, happy, fit, rich and employed ... I find that there's a limit to how much you can spend... no matter how much money you have!!! Highly annoying. It doesn't matter whether you get the money by cheating or buy working hard. no matter if you have just one sim working or four... you still get a set amount of things you can buy. I've now dropped the game out of disinterest.』
(Don't buy it... you will be playing all day) 『I have to quit playing because I will not sleep, eat or anything else just for been playing. I enjoyed it very much... you must buy it.』
(Has its own appeal despite not being as good as the computer version) 『While I like the computer version, which is tailor-made for nerds like me, better overall, the xBox version is not without its charms. The eye candy is incredible. The houses are so realistic! And the character creation is so much fun! (though, oddly, I can't get my characters to look quite as lifelike as I can on the computer) And it is such a kick to get to see my Sims on the big screen. Plus, you can have as many neighborhoods as you want.
Some things the computer version has that the Xbox version doesn't have: Two-story houses, more career tracks, 8 people to a family instead of 4, 10 families to a neighborhood instead of 6, more objects and decor (though the xBox also has some the computer version doesn't), the ability to go in super-fast mode even when people are at home and awake, etc.
The computer version can hold my attention for 12+ hours at a time; with the xBox I get bored after 2 or 3 (maybe it's because I'm on a nice comfy sofa instead of a hard-backed computer chair, so I fall asleep! *wink*). However, those 2 or 3 hours are a lot of fun. I recommend this game.』
(Play for HOURS) 『This game is pretty addicting... I will literally play for hours and hours (and I'm not big into video games)! It's so fun to create your different characters and build your dream house... I played on the computer at a relative's house and really got hooked there, so my husband got the game on XBox for me. It's a little different then the computer version but still just as fun!』 『The Sims for Xbox』 『The Simshas much in common withTony Hawk's Pro Skater: There's a great emphasis trial and error, it encourages personalized solutions to problems, and overall success comes down to both balance and timing. Also, like the Tony Hawk games,The Simsis a very addictive game.
Players micromanage the lives of a family of virtual people and influence the outcome of their lives, be it success or something akin to a nervous breakdown. The bestselling PC version of the game has, in recent years, been upgraded with elements like parties, pets, and vacations, but this iteration is closer to the basic formula.
You start the game living with Mom in a one-story suburban house. You are immediately presented with certain life tasks, such as fixing the TV and making lunch, which are aligned with the skills you'll need for the game's main challenge--keeping your sims in balance on eight conflicting categories. For example, eating will have an impact on your sim's hunger rating, but it will also impact his bladder rating. You'll have to make sure that he keeps himself and the house clean, that he sleeps to restore his energy, and that he also has time to keep himself entertained. The free will option lets your sims coast a bit, and you can also save time by stacking tasks together. Time passes at the rate of about one minute per second in the game, but you can fast-forward sim time when you need to, such as when they're sleeping.
The controls are justifiably complex, but adjusting to them is not difficult. You see your sims from an overhead perspective that you can both rotate and zoom. You direct their actions by moving a line cursor to where you want them to go or to what object or person with which you want them to interact.
The game is surprisingly funny. Neglect your sims and they'll shout and wave their arms to get your attention. Allow one's energy to get too low and he or she will likely collapse and sleep right where they were standing. When that happens, Mom is likely to serve them dinner on the floor.
Gamers may find that it takes a while to get the hang ofThe Sims' style and control scheme. Stick with it and you may find real time fast-forwarding by.--Porter B. Hall --The text of this review refers to the PlayStation2 version of the game.
Pros:
Interesting, open-ended gameplay
Lots of quirky humor
Two-player split-screen option
Cons:
Can be frustrating for those unfamiliar with strategy games
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (fun but ultimately repetitive) 『this is a different spin on mortal kombat!instead of fighting[which you can still do] you get to go out adventuring as kung low and lou kang.i know i mispelled them but if you dont like it bite it!mortal kombat mispells every word with a c in it.anyhow, these 2 get xps made popular by d and d.if you are any kind of player you dont need this explained to you.but ill bet someones out there going "huh?" and scratching his or her head as the case may be.xps are points you get for defeating evil.these points may be spent on cooler and more complicated manuvers.this game is extremely fast paced!its really cool and quite chaotic at first.but once the chaos and balance harmonize it gets repetitive.like "look!i hit that evil wraith with a spine sucking bone marrow manifold uterus squeeze!" gets old the 23456789th time it happens.oh yeah!i forgot about the easy fatalities.you can just hit them any old time, instantly killing your opponent.another cool idea is the instant death environmental through.[i know scratch scratch].this means you can snatch a dude up and toss his a....... into a spiked wall or off a cliff or into acid or......well you get the idea!out of the 3 new mk games for the x-box this one takes the cake!so eat your cake.wash your hands so you dont grease up and or slime your controller and get them knuckles pumping, dude!』
(Get your monk on!!) 『The Mortal Kombat team wanted to try something new, and I sure am glad they did. I have not beaten the game yet or even come close to unlocking all it's secrets, but I feel I have played enough to write a review as I am halfway through the Soul Tomb.
My favorite part of the game so far has been fighting the three leading ladies of MK, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana, all at once! They look beautiful and they are hard to get through if you are playing the game without a partner.
As other reviewers have said, the opening video is amazing and you got to love the way Reptile goes after Johny Cage.
I play as Liu Kang and I am having a blast whipping my hat around and doing slice fatalities, and the mutality is great when you have a room full of Barakas to fight.
The graphics are awesome, the sound effects are top notch, and it has a great 'Mortal Kombat' feel. There is no other way to describe it but for that way. MK enthusiests will know exactly what I speak of. I look forward to playing this game for weeks to come and will probably play it again and again. The versus mode is great and I can't wait to unlock Kitana.』
(An MK fanboy's dream game) 『Can Mortal Kombat still be relevant after all these years? With "Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks," Midway did a fine job proving that it still Kan (um, sorry about that).
The fighting system is smooth and responsive, similar to games like "Devil May Cry," "Ninja Gaiden," "Legacy of Kain: Deception" and "Zone of Enders." It's fast paced, combo-oriented and very, very violent. You dispatch wave after wave of bad guys, but there's enough variety to keep it from going stale, especially when you learn how to string together 100-hit custom combos. Throughout the 6-10 hour quest, you can use weapons scattered around, interact with the environments and find secrets and unlockables in every single area of the game. Yes, you read that right.
"Shaolin Monks: takes place from the end of the original game to the end of "Mortal Kombat II." You play as Kung Lao or Liu Kang, who each play completely differently. As you fight your way through various locations from those games, you learn new abilities and fatalities (you know, finishers), buy moves, solve puzzles, and fight boss battles with popular characters such as Scorpion, Reptile, Baraka, Goro, Shang tsung and the final two bosses from "MK 2."
The boss battles are particularly impressive. Each one is completely different and you dispatch these bad guys in some imaginative ways, similar to games like "Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy" or the "Metal Gear Solid" series. Of course, each battle also has its fair share of straight up flying fists and boots to the face. As a nice bonus, you finish each fight with a unique situational fatality. Beware, since your enemies could do the same to you. It's worth losing at least once to see how your opponents can dismember you.
The single player mode is great, even though the story may seem stupid to "Mortal Kombat" newcomers. For fans, this game deserves another half star or more toward its rating. Expanding the series' storyline and freely exploring memorable environments from the old games in 3-D is nostalgic and awe-inspiring at times.
Of course, not every game is perfect. There are brief periods of tedium coupled with a lot of back-tracking and instances of the "revisiting-an-old-area-with-a-new-ability" formula that so many games seem to use. You may also get tired of seeing the same fatality over and over again at first, but that should be in incentive to discover some more (each fighter has quite a few if you take the time to find hidden icons or look them up on the internet). There are also some glitches, occasional slowdown, and voice acting that is so laughably bad that you somehow grow to love it.
The next section is for "Mortal Kombat" fans, meant to recall memories and spark some interest (But let's face it. Nearly any long-time gamer has a soft spot for Mortal Kombat). Characters you interact with or fight include Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonja blade, Jax, Kano, Kitana, Mileena, Jade, Smoke, Ermac, Johnny Cage and Noob Saibot. Places you get to visit include Goro's Lair, the Living Forest, the Dead Pool, the Pit (1 and 2), the Soul Tomb, the Portal, Shao Kahn's arena and the Wasteland. If any of these characters or places brings a tear to your eye, you should go play this game.
The quirky humor, over-the-top gore and general weirdness are still intact. Johnny Cage starts asking if Kitana, the princess of Outworld who tried killing his allies, is hot. Then Kung Lao starts teasing Liu Kang about her being his girlfriend. There's even an homage to the "thumbs up" scene of "Terminator 2!" It may seem out of place in a game where you throw mutants onto spikes and jump off their carcasses to reach a ledge (expect plent of puzzles similar to this), but the MK universe is so screwy that nothing seems impractical.
If you have a friend who likes games, your enjoyment of "Shaolin Monks" will dramatically increase. In the Ko-op mode (lot's of stuff is still spelled with K's), you can find more secrets, use team-specific moves and have the most addicting co-op experience this side of "Halo." In the Vs. mode, you duke it out using the main game's engine. Weapons, environments and trash talk will give you the edge in fights that are basically what "Mortal Kombat II" would be like in 3-D.
Speaking of "MK II," a full version of it is unlockable by beating side quests known as "Smoke Missions." There's all sorts of other "Kontent" available, including concept art, hidden fatality button combos and secret characters. There are two unlockable fighters for the main game and six combatants and levels available for VS. mode (and each fighter does indeed play differently). In a nutshell, there is a lot more to do than just beat the game quickly and shelve it away. The main quest is also worth beating several times because of the hidden characters and different difficulty levels. The replay value is insanely high.
The graphics aren't jaw-dropping, but they do the job and are never bad to the point of distraction. Music and sounds are classic MK, with world music and electronic rock playing behind exaggerated grunts, screams and "Toasty" yells. The sinister-sounding announcer is also prevalent. The load times are quick and welcome, considering the fact that you'll want a break from the intensity one in awhile.
"Shaolin Monks" completely redeems the series. It proves that Midway can finally make an impressive "Mortal Kombat" game outside of the fighting genre. There is still room for improvement, so an inevitable sequel should be even better, but "Shaolin Monks" is a successful experiment that should entertain for hours and hours.』
(fun game) 『the numerous combos and ways of attacking the enemies are fantastic. playing co-op with a buddy or son is also a big plus. the fighting action is highly exaggerated which can be a good thing. It does fall under the Mortal Kombat historic style. there are numerous amounts of hidden items in the game that keep you coming back for more. I highly recommend』

(The Simpsons Road Rage) 『This is a great game for the family. I had been looking for this game in store's and couldn't find it. Like alway's I found what I was looking for at Amazon.com. I got a great deal on it and it was deliverd fast.』
(MEH, NEEDS WORK 7 OUT OF 10) 『Simpsons Road Rage is about how Mr. Burns buys Springfield Transit services and replaces the buses with nuclear power, so to save Springfield you must start your own taxi service, drive people where they want to go, make money to buy transit services back, and avoid running out of time during your money-making excursions. The game's overall quality is decent but unfortunately there are issues that must be addressed. First off, the graphics. The characters don't really look like cartoons, rather ugly character models that didn't take full use of the console's power. Next is repetition. Sometimes the game gets repetitive during taxi missions and the environments are somewhat bland. Next is the destruction. Seriously EA, the destruction in the game isn't very impressive. This game has some overall good value to it if you don't have anything new to play when it comes to driving or you're just bored waiting for new cooler titles. Or, if you you're a rabid Simpsons fan this is definitely worth a look. I had a good enough time with it, but it lacks depth and meat to it.』

(Love it or hate it) 『Some love it, others hate it. Here is the low-down. This is "Crazy Taxi" in Simpson-Land. There are plenty of sight and sound gags that should satisfy Simpsons fans, but they will become repetetive and annoying if you play long enough. The "worlds" are terrific, but are not "perfect" - this game is about cartoon-driving mayhem, it is not intended to be realistic. The bottom line is that the game is a blast to play.
Crazy Taxi has larger, more detailed "worlds", but without the comedy and humor of Road Rage. Road Rage, however, has more and better cars to play. My only criticism is that some of the language and inuendo could easily have been left out without detracting from the fun at all.
P.S. Sometime, be sure to drive around and read all the signs, billboards, and the names of the businesses. Every time you get hit or die, it cusses. I know we are all getting desensitised to this, but the game should not be rated E10. The violence is pretend and I don't have a problem. Most E10 are due to violence with some obscure language that is hard to hear. With Shadow, "damn" is being said every 30 seconds. That's ridiculous. Never before has a Sonic game not been good for everyone. I missed the E10, thought it was only an E. Let my 5 year old play it. I grew up playing Sonic and so has my son. Very unhappy with Sega for this one. No reason for the language and no way to turn it off!』
(Inappropriate for children of any age.) 『I was skeptical when my 8-year-old daughter came running downstairs and told me that the characters on my 11-year-old sons "E" rated video game were cursing, but I went upstairs to check it out anyway. Sure enough, one of the characters was using the word "Damn." Even worse, he had to shoot and kill people to get through another challenge. Do the makers of this game, (Kaizen Media Group), really think that this sort of game is okay with responsible parents? Well, it's not. There are so many interesting and funny words in the English dictionary, I can't believe that this is the only thing that Kaizen Media Group could come up with!
I'm tired of going to movies and buying video games rated for children that are full of violence and cursing. It adds nothing to the game/movie. Adults can choose freely in regards to what games/movies they purchase, but as parents we are responsible for what our children play/view. I really feel that we need to speak out about these issues. If I could return this game I would. It is definitely headed for the trashcan and I will not be buying another one from this company. I suggest that you don't either.
』
(What are these parents talking about?) 『First of all, I am sick of parents basing there reviews on the content of the game. If you read the back of the game you would know that this game has VIOLENCE and MILD LANGUAGE. Second, the color and name of the aliens has nothing to do with African-American people. It is probably associated with th Nazis wearing Black. Third, do you really think that kids are going to go around saying the word 'damn' just because the heard it in a video game? If your kid starts saying damn(which I really doubt), just calmly explain to him or her that that is a bad word. This violence is NON-IMITATEABLE!!! So, stop worrying that your kid is going to cause your children to want to hurt people. Even when you attack the soldiers, they just fall down WOUNDED with no blood.
Now this is the review for the game. It plays mostly like sonic heroes. Of course, most of the levels a immpecably designed.(There are still a few duds in the bunch) This game is a great buy. And as for you parents, go blame Grand Theft Auto about something.』
(Parents think carefully) 『My 9-year-old received this game as a gift. Thinking it was as harmless as the other Sonic game we own, I didn't look closely at the packaging, so I didn't see the E10+ rating on the back. It was only as my 9, 7, and 5-year-olds were playing for the first time that I became alarmed. Every 30 seconds or so, I was hearing swearing. Read the other reviews. This game is not for children, not even older children, if you are as opposed to the use of swear words as I am. The E10+ rating is misleading. This should be rated T. I won't allow my children to play this game because they act out what they play and imitate dialogue. I don't want my 5-year-old saying "D---" and it's a sad world when I have to police and screen everything that comes into my home. I definitely don't want my children being as disrespectful as the other children reviewing this game are. From now on I research every game that my children want to get.』
(Reiner and Me are Right) 『Before I write my review, I want to share with you all a review written about this game by Reiner of GameInformer magazine to prove to you that I am not the only one that thinks that this game sucks:
"Wait... this game is mislabeled. This isn't Shadow the Hedgehog. It's that miserable Broken the Hedgehog! With the scent of a dirty diaper permeating from his speedy wake, this killer of classic gaming franchises does what he does best. He sucks. Not since Bubsy have I seen a mascot-based action game corner the market in unresponsive controls, disastrous level designs, inconsistent framerates, traumatizing character designs, and (my personal favorite) just being flat out broken. At the very least, this game has its place in the history of gaming for that. Shame on you, Sega."
Now for my review: If you have any sense of self-worth or decency, don't buy this game. If you do, it's just a waste of your money. You ask, "Why isn't this review longer?" Frankly, because Reiner already said what needed to be said. Listen.

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (A turn for the worst) 『This game is pretty bad, I used to be an MK fan until they released this garbage. Technically it's decent but it has no personality and the combo/fighting system is awkward. I actually rather play MK4 instead of this because at least that game had the spirit of the earlier games.
3D fighters have left this series in the dust, I much rather play Dead or Alive... any of them.』
(i grew up with mortal kombat, but dear God, this game was bad!) 『this game is so horrible. the graphics are bad, the fighters are boring, and i think this game doesn't have fatalities!』
(Great!) 『This game has great graphics,&the play is smooth. Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance has graphic violence, but not like the shoot yer head off kind. It's a fighting game that allows you to play agaisnt Bots, or your friends. It great adrenaline rush for hours!』
(much better than deception) 『this mk game is easily the better of the 2 new mk games with the other being deception.the characters are far easier to obtain in this game.the levels can be frustrating but require simply skill and not so much luck.a whole plethora of awesome characters can be brought out.the new fighting styles grant you 12 really cool moves that are but a click or two away.you can use these and beat the entire game.only the ocd will actualy bother to learn the 200 button moves and the 219 click fatalities.they are cool but so not worth the effort.this game KICKS.........errrrr ummm well it kicks butt, man.go buy it!』
(The best out of the bunch.) 『I know its been awhile since MKDA been out, but I'm making a review anyway. This game was well thought out and the story was well planned. It actually had a plot to it. The combo moves were great in it, the weapons were a good idea, all the characters had a background story to it, the fatalities were good, But the best part was this new idea of Shoving, Power-ups, Escaping, and the best part Reversals. Doing reversals was so much fun, and so beautifully timed to. I also like the idea of training mode, all the previous games never had that, so that too was a good idea. They also put in the good ole Test Your Might game in it, so that was a plus. "They don't put that in there games as often as they should." The only pet peeves that I saw were... Sonja wasn't able to do her leg grab flip move, her bicycle kick, and her arm ring move. Nor did they make Shang Tsung morph, and he can't siphon souls out of the soul-nato in the background, but that was forgivable. And thats it, all in all they did a pretty good job on this. It just had a few bugs in it.
P.S. Its better to own this game on X-Box cause the affects are better. Example; Sub-Zero's freeze move has a lot more detail. Game Cube doesn't have that.』 『Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance for Xbox MODEL- 30010 VENDOR- MIDWAY FEATURES- Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance enters the 21st Century with an all- new fighting system, brutal fatalities and an intense storyline that pushes the limits of the next-generation consoles. This installment introduces a 3-D battle system that still manages to maintain a 2-D feel. For example, pushing up on your controller makes you sidestep your opponent's attacks, yet it also allows you to jump by tapping up plus a direction. A revamped fighting system offers up to three different fighting styles for each fighter (one includes a weapon technique). The multiple styles provide countless variations of attacks for any given fighter. Different combinations of punches and kicks allow for lengthy and powerful chain attacks similar to theMortal Kombatof old. Fatalities are also back and are rich in graphic representation.
New fighters join the cast of old favorites such as Sonya, Kano, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Jax, Cyrax, Kung Lao, Kitana, Quan Chi, Reptile, and Shang Tsung. The lavish environments surround your fighters with animated backgrounds and rich skylines. On some levels there are even breakable objects and hazards that you can interact with, such as pools of acid--the perfect landing place for a thrown opponent.
In addition to regular modes of gameplay (arcade, versus, etc.) there is an option called Konquest mode. This mode allows you to learn more about fighting styles, read up on each character's personal history, and gain Koins which can then be spent in the Krypt to unlock a host of new characters, costumes, and early concept drawings. The additional content offered with this title is plentiful, including "The Making ofDeadly Alliance" and "The History ofMortal Kombat" featurettes.
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliancesuccessfully reinvents the series by dishing up a unique mix of improved graphics and stylized gameplay without compromising those features that made the MK series popular in the first place.--Carlos Rodela
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Straight up ACTION) 『Hell yeah man, Max Payne 2. The original was ingenious in a simplistic way and Maxy Payne 2 brings back all of the good things, fixes the bad, and brings more things to the table. This game is awesome, definitely worth the $5 it cost buying it used from Amazon.
It's been 2 years since the events of the first game, Max has cleared his name and is now working as a detective for the NYPD. During a crime scene investigation he comes across Mona Sax, the girl from the first game he thought had died. They run into contracted killers dressed as 'cleaners', they must escape and find out who wants both of them dead.
The game started off a bit slower than the first, there's a lot more story this time around. The developer's tried to beef up the story to make the game a more complete package. I remember playing through this years ago and thinking it blew away the original, but this time around I didn't see it.... until it got to the point where Max and Mona are working together. It's almost as if the game decides you've had enough 'training' with easy kills and switches it up to some dope stuff. Max and Mona are at a construction site, running through an empty building but they're in different locations. There's a bunch of guys hiding behind pallets, boxes, pillars, and when you go in there guns blazing you just see stuff flying everywhere. The bullet time lasts much longer this time around in order to encourage you to get into the action. You also get to play as Mona at times, as well as be accompanied by her or other characters throughout the game.
When you activate the bullet time, the screen turns into a sepia tone and everything slows down except your aim. Imagine taking cover when you come across a room with 5 guys, you throw a grenade from behind cover, activate bullet time and rush in there mowing guys down with your uzis. Max is out in the open and has to reload so he extends his arms out and does a crouched 360 spin like in the Matrix, which helps avoid shots. Those that turned to run away are caught by the grenade blast. Nice.
The environments are much better this time around and you encounter more enemies which leads to more action. In this respect, Max Payne 2 is much better than the original. Still no puzzles, thank God, just pure action.
Gone are the dream sequences where you had to balance on a blood trail in a space of nothingness. I guess people complained enough. Instead, the dream sequences are back but you're simply running through a hospital. At one point you encounter a double of yourself who has been locked up and accused of murder. He pleads his case as he runs away from you.
"I've been FRAMED!"
hahaha! That's classic, the voice acting and story are the same as in Max Payne. I'm glad that I was buzzed for that one. The story got kind of involved with conspiracies from different characters from the first game, I found it hard to connect all the dots. The part of the story that made sense to me were the events there were currently happening. Regardless, the cut scenes with the story board illustrations were even better and gave the game personality. Max still has dope lines:
"I was compelled to give him back his gun.... one bullet at a time"
I can keep going off on the good things, there's plenty of health available, no shortage of guns and ammo, the quick-save feature guarantees you don't have to replay any area just because you died. It always feels like you're making progress and never felt like a chore playing it. When you beat the game, you unlock harder difficulties, the 'New York Minute' mode, and a survival mode where you have to stay alive while fighting endless enemies. It's dope. When you beat the game in the hardest setting, you'll get a different ending.
I can't end this without pointing this out: As the title indicates, this is the "Fall of Max Payne". Quickly you'll see why: he stopped being OTFABS. It's almost hard to believe. A lot of the perdition he gets himself into is because he's whipped. Most of the time I was in disbelief, "What the hell man, don't do that! You gotta be OTFABS! Ah, well no choice but to kill all these guys now." If he were to remain OTFABS the game would have ended in the first act. Max goes through perdition.』
(Kid at Heart!) 『Shipped within the dates specified. The person I purchased this game for had played it previously on PS. He is enjoying it on the XBox 360 now.』
(Part II of anything never good!!!) 『This is just another sad story of how another title of the same series often turns out to be bad. The story, by all means, is the most pathetic one I have ever heard of. They changed Mona Sax's appearance and her voice for obvious reasons (to appeal to male players of the game). That's all nice and good. But, that alone doesn't make a game great.
Max Payne I was great. Max Payne II is alright!!! The Graphics have improved greatly. I can admit that much. The game is more funny than the previous in that the bad guys say stupid things in the game that make you laugh. But, that's about it. Nothing else makes it more special than Max Payne I. This game does not portray as much violence as Max Payne I. But, it is still not a game for kids. No doubt about it. And the game cannot be played on a 64-bit PC. So, watch out!!!』
(Old but still fun) 『I have an xbox 360 and I have been buying older used titles to play. While the titles are older, they're new to me and heck if you buy them used through amazon they're cheaper than renting. I got both max payne and max payne 2 used and both worked beautifully. As to the games, both were great fun and very entertaining, the story pulls you along, and the action is non stop. While it is true that technically they are dated, they still have the goods...for both I paid approximatedly ten bucks which is cheaper than a movies ticket and popcorn and ended up having hours of fun being in my own detective movie. The dream sequences are a hoot, and the action keeps you on your toes. If you haven't played these titles, buy them used and give them a go. Then resell them to recoup your investment. You can't go wrong.』
(Well, they are successfully mimicking Hollywood...) 『...by producing dull paint-by-numbers sequels. The original Max Payne was inventive (with its bullet-time interludes and playable nightmare sequences) and moody (pulp comic storytelling and Noir York backdrops), and held my attention despite some pretty serious gameplay and difficulty balance flaws. Unfortunately Max Payne 2 has retained the flaws and added nothing new to the experience.
MP2 is still too easy with Bullet Time assistance, far too many health and ammo powerups, and an overall simple level of play. I'm just an average shooter player, but I breezed through it in a few hours. And maybe due to less inspired level structure than the first (warehouses...ughh), it felt shorter. The complex time-warped romance of MP2 is disorienting and silly, and by the halfway point I had been jerked around by so many false flashbacks and faked death scenes that I really couldn't care less if Mona lived or died.
Yes, the graphics are nice and the storyboarding and character expressions are more realistic, but it will take more depth and innovation to hold my interest in the Max Payne series.』 『Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne brings back the film-noir and gritty gaming of the popular anti-hero, Max Payne -- a good cop who turns his back on the law, and goes after revenge.
