(Good for Haunted Mansion fans) 『I bought this game a while ago after returning from Tokyo Disney. I'm a fan of the Haunted Mansion ride. This game captures more of the feel than the movie did and provides good entertainment value. The puzzles are well though out and graphics work well. The graphics are phenomonal. It makes you feel that you are in the rooms you are playing in. They just surprised me. Enough said. The graphics are the best I've ever seen. (I only own nine Xbox games though)
The controls can be mastered in 15 minutes. It's not like some other games that buttons do multiple things at different points inthe game. Each button does one action throughout the entire game.
The gameplay is what I focus buying games on, and this is why I bought it. You control a young man named Zeke Holloway. You must first turn on the lights in the room. You need skill to figure out the puzzles to get to the light though. They are extremely hard. Once you've turned the lights on, you must locate souls hidden in objects such as chairs, tables, and plants. Then you must suck them into your special lantern. This isn't hard because the objects the souls are in are pulsing in and out. Then you have to Find the next room to open and repeat the process. You have to do the same thing in each room, but the rooms and puzzles are so different, you just won't get bored. There is actually some fighting in this game. You shoot light from your lantern to kill ghosts, spiders, and more. Although the game is rated T for violence, parents this game is suitable for all. The violence really isn't violent.
To sum it up, I love this game. It really makes your mind work hard. If you don't like strategy, this game isn't for you. This game is packed with fun. I recommend renting this game before you buy it, because it appeals to some, and some won't like it. This is the best game I have ever played, and it was a good choice for me.』

(what is cartman talking about?!) 『This game is great for shoot and scoot games, the troops i fought with are not dumb, as a matter of fact i've seen them when needing to reload hump out a grenade, reload and re-engage before the grenade even detonates. As to SOCOM, want to talk about dumb, standing straight up when you are under fire, which they do more often or not, or go loud with a SAW or M60 on a quiet hunt, THAT is SOCOM, and SEALS are better than that! Cartman, engaging a main battle tank with any, and i mean any anti-aircraft missle system is as useless as spitting at it, grenades do not do squat against tanks or APS's, and you could rock the side of a MBT (Main Battle Tank for the non troop type) with a .50 cal M2 machine gun and all you would do is SCRATCH the paint. I have fought quite a few actions, and while you will never get realism from a video game, (including Ghost Recon, sorry) Conflict is pretty darn good, great small unit tactics. Oh, by the way, plenty of people have been shot in the face and not died, not only that, but kept on FIGHTING. Sorry this game didn't meet some peoples movie combat knowledge. Another thing, just about everyone in my unit thought SOCOM sucked. Conflict has so far been my favorite small unit tactics game.』

I mean, when you compare this to a game like Socom, it starts to make you wonder, why am i even playing Desert Storm? The graphics.... horrible. They are N64 quality and the cutscenes are just as bad as the graphics. Your teammates... not such a big help. When you tell them to hold their fire and a Iraqi is right next to them blowing their brains out, what do they do? Sit there getting shot. The game isn't realistic. When your shot in the face, your still alive. Sure it helps you but its unrealistic. And when you use an anti air craft missle thing and use it on the tanks, nothing happens! I was never in the military but don't grenades damage tanks, and shooting them in the side should hurt them. But no. If you want to play desert storm, invite 3 friends over. Oh yeah, the menu screens... Craptastic! With the horrible presentation, bad ai, lack of realism and strategy leaves this game to warn people to probably rent it.... Or not 2 out of 5』

Two the original King of Fighters was original based on characters from Fatal fury (Guess no one remembers that one). They made so many after the first one. I lost count (witch was base on 3 vs. 3 characters, not like one on one you have today in the KOF games). Second. SNK had allot great fighting games besides King of Fighters. World Heroes 1&2, Fatal fury 1&2. Samurai Showdown 1&2. Now I'm happy to see Samurai Showdown being coming back that was a cool fighting game and the first one was cool. So I'm going buy the part V (where did 3&4 go? anyone know). When it comes out this month. But what makes me sad is snk (neogeo) is own by capcon who wont release games like Worlds Heroes or Ghost Ryder airplane shooter based on ww2. These would be great for xbox and alot of fun. Guess I'm writing cause never like KOF. But must say Street fighter 2 was the best came game that ever came out of capcon. I wish SNK would come out with some old classics like Capcon just did. And if anyone from Capcon reads this you need to come out with a version of Dark Stalkers 1 or 2 for Xbox your Capcon Fighting Evolutions doesn't cut it. Dark Stalkers Rocked we need whole version that would be one of the best. Hope like my rant and some out there knows what I'm talking about. Hopefully someone from SNK or Capcon will read this.』

3: can someone please explain why EVERYONE can do the Shiyruken in this? I know snk is just a knockoff of streetfighter, but come on, cant they think of one person that doesnt dress and fight like, or at the very least isnt named after, ryu?

The game offers a remarkable assortment of fighters, fighting styles, and variety of play. Forty characters--each with their own special powers, attacks, timing issues, personalities, and sound bites--get magnified three-fold by three separate "-isms" which alter their powers, and three "grooves," which mix them up yet again. There’s a lot to learn and it ensures that playing a foe of equal skill is never dull because you can never be sure what character he’s going to pick and how that character will fight.
The graphics are generally decent, though some of these fighters look like they haven’t been spiffed up for today’s console systems. The older Street Fighter guys look just plain bad next to newly added characters from the SNK stable. But the animation is smooth, the backgrounds have been significantly redone and feature new, often startling animations, and the special effects are just plain awesome. The audio is pretty much the same old themes that Capcom has been using for the better part of a decade now.
All told there’s very little reason for PS2 or GameCube gamers to own this game, other than the SNK characters. The Xbox version is playable over Xbox Live (sold separately), which is a big advantage--everyone knows that these games, born of arcade coin-ops, are meant to be played competitively. The service does nothing to match players of equal skill, but that’s pretty similar to the experience in an arcade. The ability to start up a relatively lag free game at a moment’s notice and trade trash talk with another gamer from around the world is just priceless, and a welcome addition to the series.--Andrew S. Nothing mean. its riding through some neat scenery. coins lead the way. also buy more outfits. different challenges with each trail&for the foals. havent made it thru the maze of the secret garden yet&i wish there were some coins there leading the way because that got a bit too frustrating for my daughter. we have the xbox360. i dont know if its a compatibility thing or not but even with the update the 2nd player of the minigames is not visual so thats not so much fun when friends come to play. wish there were more fun girl games like this to choose from.』

(If Only Barbie Weren't Involved...) 『This game IS fun, but let's face it: Barbie is...an idiot. I don't mean to offend all you Barbie-lovers, but Barbie isn't an excellent role model...I mean, when she rides, she doesn't even keep her stupid heels down, and almost NONE of her riding equipment is suitable...I mean, cowboy hats are nice, but you need a RIDING HELMET in order to ride properly. The reins are WAY too long, and the saddles aren't completely right. Might as well be going down the middle section of the horse...Ugh...And COME ON! When Barbie says that she miraculously learned to jump, she is telling all horse lovers who don't know how to ride that you can jump just like that! Ridiculous...Anyways, enough with my dumb complaining, this game has things other than Barbie. I have to admit that the horses are very well done, and the graphics are very good as well. The "levels" test one's courage and determination to go on in the game, cause once you get on to the third gate, you have to face stuff that you've never faced before, but to those who have never played, I just wanna let you find out for yourself. Besides, there is no real secret to get around it. Also, the landscapes are GORGEOUS, and the puzzles are somewhat simple, but can be challenging as well. Even to a 12 year old. The horses which you can capture are wonderful-looking, but sadly you can't change their names. If I could I would have named at least one of them Epona...Or maybe even Link. =D This game is VERY good, but beware of the scariness of Barbie...*shifty eyes*』
(BARBIE DIES!!! (How To)) 『To make Barbie fall endlessly / go under a rock: On the last trail (Shorline Trail 3), there is a boardwalk with rides and a lighthouse. Right before the boardwalk begins, there is some water. Get off your horse and walk into the water as far as Barbie can go. Around where a large rock is, there is a small triangular inlet in the ground in the water. Walk into it and Barbie is able to walk under water! Walk farther to the edge and she falls into oblivion and technically dies! Something else you can do under water is go under the large rock. Walk under water to the rock and you're soon inside of it! This is the best cheat ever!!!』

Galaga - As far as I know I am the world's Galaga champ. I cannot walk past an arcade machine no matter where I am or what I'm doing. I just know that as soon as I put that quarter into the machine, I know where I'll be spending the next hour and a half. This is an incredible game, perhaps the greatest ever made. Go for 40 on the challange stage every time or you'll never catch me. And always double up your ships every chance you get. Shoot the aliens while they are forming up. By the time they start coming down, you should only have two or three left.
Dig Dug - The Holy Grail of 80's arcades. This is the game that predated Mr. Do, yet will never be forgotten. Always drop rocks, drop as many rocks as youcan. It makes the vegetables appear, you get tremendous points for kills, and they get you out of tight fixes. At the arcade when you see 999,999 on the Dig Dug machine, you know it was me.
Pac-Man - Hail the highest grossing game of all time. Though Ms. Pac-Man was the best version, Pac Man will bring you hours of enjoyment everyday. When you get the chance, purchase or download the song 'Pac Man Fever'. You can play it at your next Pac-Man elimination party.
Pole Position - I spent a fortune on this game as a kid at the Circle K. Now from the comfort of my own living room, and without bullies and hangers-on over my shoulder, I can run the gauntlet of this superior driving game. Go into low around those curves bud, and never ever tailgate.』

Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Star Wars on auto-pilot) 『This is a Star Wars game that originally came out near the launch of the PS2, and was later ported to Xbox as a 'special edition' package. I just recently, finally picked up an xbox, and being a Star Wars fan decided to give this one a spin.
This is a solid and playable game, but in hindsight it's nothing special. Some Star Wars games have been outstanding (Jedi Knight, Knights of the Old Republic), some have been dirt poor (Obi-Wan), and others have tried hard without quite hitting the mark (Clone Wars, Bounty Hunter). Starfighter kinda falls on the lower end of that last category. Graphics are very first-generation circa 2001, getting the job done without blowing you away. The story weaves together three separate characters and their ships and ties into Episode I, but it just doesn't becoming involving. The gameplay is based off the Rogue Squadron series developed by Factor 5, a mix of arcade and flight-sim where you destroy stuff and protect targets in the Star Wars universe. Only there's not a lot of innovation from Rogue Squadron, and it feels like more of the same from levels you played during the N64 era.
Starfighter feels like a 'safe' product for Lucasarts, a game they could churn out with a proven formula in-between bigger projects. It's worth picking up for any Star Wars fans looking to complete their collection, but everyone else should pass.』

(A little late but whatev.) 『Okay, so I've been playing Chaos Bleeds for a year and a half (not because I'm stuck but because my friend owned the game so I had to wait until it was available and I had time to play). I admit it was the first of the two Buffy games I played, mostly due to the fact that my friend couldn't find the first buried in her Taj Mahal sized closet. Anyway, it was a little frustrating in the beginning, as any game you're new to, when it came to figuring out the controls, but once I did, I quite enjoyed it. And the puzzles weren't that hard (for the most part) and neither were the bosses, though it did take me forever and a day to beat Kakistos, but I insist there were too many of those stupid orb things.
Anyway, my only real issue with the game was the fact that yes sometimes you end up punching air, but hey, you get used to it and figure out how to recover.
I didn't play the first Buffy game until after I'd gotten 8 levels into Chaos Bleeds and I have to say, from the start of that game I was disappointed, never even bothered to complete the first level in fact. I was just so bored and the inventory is completely different, in my opinion, worse.
Good things about Chaos Bleeds, while there is a limit on five items (on certain items) you still had a variety and after getting used to the inventory you could change your weapons very quickly. And nothing was shmexier than being able to use a shovel or a spike every now and then, by far my favorite weapons, next to the axe. Over all, Chaos Bleeds is one of the few games that ever kept me interested in playing, and I would often re-start the game to get a higher rating in speed and kills. Now that I've moved away from my friend that owns the game I decided to crack down and buy my own version, and let's just say I can't wait. I have a feeling my days off from work are going to be filled with me calling "Just a minute mom, I'm dusting vamps in here," followed by her reply, "Kill 'em good honey!"』
(Fun But Frustrating) 『As a "Buffy" fan, I had to buy this game for two reasons: One, the first game was awesome; two, it's really hard to go wrong when investing in anything having to do with Buffy or Joss Whedon. Well, except the novels. The expanded universe Buffy novels have a trend to suck majorly. But I digress...
It's a rare occasion that I simply give a list of positives and negatives when reviewing something, whether it be a book, a movie, a CD, or--as in this case--a game. However, I feel this game can be divided as such.
POSITIVES + The story is way more ambitious + Willow's voice actress (see below) eventually (after a long, long time) grows on you + You get to play as a LOT more characters + Staking vamps and fighting as one of the characters you love is always really, really cool + Awesome extras; nostalgia at hearing the voices of many of the original "Buffy" actors.
NEGATIVES + The game-play, while it grows on you, leaves a lot to be desired. It is neither as smooth nor as "easy" as the original game. The controls will often leave you facing the wrong direction during a fight. + There aren't any "saves" in this game. The only way to save is if you beat the level. If you die, you generally go all the way--yes all the way--back to the beginning of the level. Some levels have checkpoints and some don't, but if life calls you to leave the game in the middle of a level, all your work is gone due to the "no-saves" thing going on here. No matter HOW many checkpoints you passed by in that level, quitting the game erases them all. And the levels are far to long for this to be acceptable. + The Boss Battles are often so difficult that they become ludicrous. I have never gotten to the end of the game because of the Boss Battle at the "Sunnydale Zoo" level. My father, who is essentially a pro-gamer, found himself unable to beat an earlier boss. This problem also goes along with the saving problem because sometimes, it gets so frustrating that it makes you want to turn the game off. If you do, you'll be back at the level you started at, not back at the Boss Battle. Due to that insanely hard battle, I will never see the end of a game that I was--despite it's drawbacks--enjoying.

Aspects of the game are just great, they really are, and I think its worth owning for a fun game to pop in every once in a while. It's also not a bad game to fire up if you have company and just want to set someone lose in the open waters to mess around. It can be a lot of fun. The blood graphics under water are excellent.
However, like others have mentioned this game had 5 star potential but has a few flaws making it tough to play at times. It is a workout with the controller for the harder challenges. 'Charging up' to lunge forward or to tail swipe I think is not necessary. To me personally the view is draining mentally after a while. No pun intended but it actually makes me feel sea-sick which is ashame because the game itself makes me want to keep playing but I just can't take it after a while. The game view of being able to be just below the surface but still see above the surface is nice, however the reponse is too slow when you need to dive and see what is down below you, again adding to brain strain.
So in a nutshell it is a great premise. Heck, I even like the little Jaws trivia facts that scroll below whenever the game needs to load a scene. But in the end when you really want to sit and blow a couple hours on a video game, this isn't the one.』

Adjust the AI levels in pitching, fielding, and hitting to where it's not too difficult, but not too easy and you can enjoy the game. Also, by adjusting some of the players as their skills improve (or decrease) in baseball can make the game more realistic too. I give it a 4 out of 5. Worth buying.』

What I found was a decent waste of time and not much more. I really wonder how in the world some of these people rated this game so high. Lets start with the pros shall we. It's fun to play ash a video game version of ash finally,a large arsenal of weapons,easy controls to master,you can us both hands to use weapons and combos and spells for ash to use. and plenty of enemies for you to fight.
The cons. The graphics are really not that great for an xbox game and look worse than some dreamcast games. The music isn't bad,but nothing that's really worth listening to,most of the weapons are just stronger version of what you have already and you really don't need them. I've really just used my regular boomstick for most of the game. Some more innovative weapons would have been cool. The gameplay gets really same old same old after a bit. Some more varied game play would have been nice. You can't skip some of the cut scenes which isn't a problem most of the time,but got irritating when I died a few times fighting a boss character. The spells aren't worth bothering with except for a puzzle here and there. Would have been cool if they were more useful and played into the gameplay more. The stages aren't bad,but don't really seem to to fit a game based on a horror film. The game should have been darker like resident evil or silent hill and had stages more like those games. And how many times am I going to fight the same enemies in the game. Could have used more monsters to fight.
In all I'd say a decent game for people who like hack and slash games or hardcore evil dead fans,but doesn't really take advantage of the evil dead property. This could easily have been a game about pretty much any character and been the same. A average game worth about 10 bucks. Not horrible,but nothing to write home about either.』
(Good Zombie Hacking Fun) 『While this game does have a few flaws, it is overall a good hack and slash game. Bruce Campbell lends his voice in a time-traveling, puzzle solving, zombie hacking good time. The graphics for the backgrounds is quite good although, the characters and monsters are a bit blocky. The mechanics of the game are simple to learn and it won't be long until you are slashing and hacking your way through the city streets slaughtering any evil dead that crosses your path. You don't have to be a fan of the Evil Dead movies to enjoy the game. The story, while simple is engrossing enough to keep your interest. The game is relatively short but for the price, this one can't be beat.』

Anyone into these kind of games should check out the Hunter games instead. They have better variation in weapons, and you can play with a friend.
