Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Lots of fun) 『No game... EVER... that's been created and put out on the market is perfect, and Sudeki is no exception. However, it does have many good points more than bad. This game (at least to me) by far is the most beautiful looking game that i've ever played. Lush enviorments, beautiful shadows and lighting as the characters move throughout the areas, and the transition between one area to another without much use of a load screen was nice to experience in the game. The battle system can be a bit clunky at times, especially while using healing items, but overall combat is fun. The game actually reminded me somewhat of Fable. It's not very long, I finished it in under 30 hours. It's too bad there won't be a Sudeki 2. I think with a few tweeks, it could be a good franchise. But, at least I got a chance to play the game. Special kudos to the team that created such a great looking game.』
(Fun) 『I don't know why this game gets so little regard....
It's a great game in its own right. It's nothing epic or new, but it's beautiful and addictive. Seriously, this is one of the few games I've played multiple times.
The ending...was crap. I'll be the first to admit that. I was thoroughly dissapointed with the ending.
Having said that, getting to the end was lots of fun. I originally bought my XBOX simply for Fable, and when I played the demo of this game with a Fable DVD/Promo thing, I instantly loved it. It has lots of weird voice actors (I think we have some Irish, Scottish, British, Australian and Canadian in here. Where the heck did they cast the English version of this, I wonder?) a typical RPG storyline: a kingdom at war with another, and a world that is not what it seems, and typical characters: beauitful sorceress, strong sword-weilder, furrie, gun-slinger.
However, the design is very untypical. Being an avid gamer, I know that graphics do not usually mean a great game. However, in this case I would say that the graphics really make the game! They're quirky, bright and fun. Very different from your average RPG.
Sudeki's music fits its atmosphere, and is definitely fun to listen to.
This is definitely worth it to buy used. Don't expect anything awe-inspiring from it...anyway, when did games start being about epicness and storyline? What's wrong with just sitting down, and having a good time playing a video game? If you want an epic, go play some Final Fantasy. Buy this game used, it's a crime for it to go that low, but do it anyway, and just have fun!
It's a fun little gamelet. ^_^ 』
(Can't review because it won't run on XBOX360, yet.) 『Can't review because it won't run on XBOX360, yet. I've heard a lot of praise for this game. Looking forward to an update which allows this game, Sudeki, to run on XBOX360.Sudeki Probably, a good gift for an original XBOX owner who likes RPG's.』
(Sudeki) 『This game keeps one on their toes and is very involved my kids all love this game and I myself enjoy playing it. There is violence so young kids really should have an adult preview it first. Otherwise very nice game.』
(An underrated, well-written and fun hybrid) 『Here's the thing, folks. The main reason Sudeki has been underrated by so many people is that the developer is not Japanese. Lovers of traditional Japanese rpgs are ready to poo all over Sudeki simply because it is the work of a western developer. What they fail to see is that Sudeki is anything other than a traditional rpg, and thus should not be compared to traditional rpgs. Sukeki is a brilliant mix of traditional rpg and action/adventure. It controls like action/adventure and yet features a deep combat system that allows you to switch between four different characters and direct their combat style. While the combat is not turn-based, it is still reminiscent of traditional rpgs because the action slows to bullet time when you change weapons, use an item, or unleash a magical attack. Some strategic planning is required every time you go into a battle because there are so many variables that influence how the battle plays out, as well as its outcome. You have to know your weapons, characters, enemies, spells, and items very well. So you don't have to worry about Sudeki being shallow.
The only blemish on this beautiful gem of a game is that the melee combat controls for Tal and Buki are sluggish and unresponsive. Also, the camera does not work as well as it should for melee combat. Given time and practice, it is possible to overcome these deficiencies, but they should have been ironed out in testing. Most of the time you don't even have to play as your melee fighters. You can play as Elco or Ailish, who do all of their fighting in first-person. In this way you act as kind of a director, watching the action unfold, helping each fighter as they need it, and unleashing Skill Strikes when things get a bit too hairy.
The graphics and animations in Sudeki are top notch. It is clearly one of the best looking Xbox games ever made. Visual effects for magical attacks are heart-breakingly beautiful. The writing and voice acting is high caliber, and the story is quite unique. Do yourself a favor and stop listening to all the voices in the media that tell you what you should and should not like. Give Sudeki a chance and I think you will be rewarded.』 『Sudeki Xbox』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Techmo Classic Arcade) 『I got this game for my boyfriend for his birthday because he said he wanted Tecmo Bowl, but the game he was actually talking about was Tecmo Super Bowl. So he was pretty disappointed until we played Star Force, which he says the game is worth it just for that. He's played the games in the arcade back in the day, and I'm only 19, so I've never played these games before but I'd have to say that I really enjoy Star Force. That game is awesome.』
(A GREAT COLLECTION OF ARCADE CLASSICS 8.25 OUT OF 10) 『Did the only reason you people purchase this game and give it poor reviews just for Tecmo Bowl? Wow, you missed out on a lot. There are 11 games in total in this package, all but two are fun. So I will review the games individually.
BOMB JACK- Score: 8 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: Your basic task in this game is to collect all the bombs in this stage as fast as possible while avoiding enemies. You rack up points with how fast you complete it and for collecting the power-ups provided to you to destroy enemies by being invincible for a short period of time. GRAPHICS: Bright and colorful environments really bring out the old arcade or 8-bit look in good ways. Character and enemy designs look nice for an old game. MUSIC: Cartoony and over-the-top, but there's nothing wrong with it. Sometimes however, the music is repeated for other stages. GAMEPLAY: Functions good, very responsive, and a lot of fun to play. Jumping mechanics are a little iffy though. OVERALL: There is a good replay value to it, it's very addicting, it's a lot of fun, good graphics, creative environments, and cool character designs.
TECMO BOWL- SCORE: 7.5 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: Well, it's a football game that is considered a classic by many people before the time of Madden. But, if you're looking for the NES original, you won't find it here. Instead you get the SNES remake which wasn't really a factor for me, I had a good time. Unless you're a rabid fan of the original version it shouldn't bother you too much. GRAPHICS: The vibrant 16-bit look is definitely present in this game, so it looks good. The animations are good and the game is very colorful all around. MUSIC: Not much is present, and what is here is not impressive at all. GAMEPLAY: Everything functions as it should, controls work good. Sometimes I did get confused as to how to pass the ball and to do certain things but the game made up for most of the faults. But, if you've read the other reviews there are a lot of things missing in the remake of the classic NES title, so be warned about that. OVERALL: I had a good time playing this game, most of the gameplay functions as it should, good graphics, and it will pass the time if you're bored even if it is missing some things from the original.
RYGAR- SCORE: 8.5 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: Picture what would happen if you were to throw Simon Belmont from the 8-bit and 16-bit Castlevania games into a prehistoric setting, gave him loincloth to wear and gave him a mace; that right there is basically what this game is; a prehistoric version of Castlevania, except you fight a large number of very wierd creatures that are not related to vampires, the game is harder, and it's one-hit kills. GRAPHICS: Environments look good, but the character models aren't so great looking. MUSIC: Repetitive, not very interesting. GAMEPLAY: Despite faults in music and graphics, the gameplay is wonderful and feels very much like Castlevania, but more challenging. The controls work great, but platforming feels a little sticky in some areas. OVERALL: It's a great adventure filled with puzzles and great challenges that are a lot of fun, so the other flaws are very minor in comparison to a really fun game.
PLEIADS- SCORE: 8.25 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: This is a space shooter that feels very similar to the old Atari games like Planet Smashers, Millipede, Centipede, Warlords; just to name a few. Your task is to use your space craft to defeat aliens from destroying the city, if you save your city then you begin to travel through space and defeat more enemies. GRAPHICS: Looks a lot like the Atari game Planet Smashers; this game looked like a pretty 8-bit game. MUSIC: None, it's just the sounds of shooting. GAMEPLAY: Like your average space shooter it's a top-down view, and you just shoot the oncoming alien ships. Controls work perfectly as they should. But the game is a one-hit kill game, you get hit once or touch an enemy ship you're dead. OVERALL- What damages the overall quality of the game is the one-hit kill mechanic and no music, but that rarely hinders the fun you'll have from this game. It's most certainly a classic to be remembered.
STRATO FIGHTER- SCORE: 8.75 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: It is a side-scrolling shooter that feels very familiar to the SNES classic Gradius III, but not quite as fun. GRAPHICS: Looks like a SNES game and looks just as pretty as any of the SNES's best looking space shooters. Explosions are pretty, environments are pretty, and the ships are nicely designed. MUSIC: Nice score, but it could have been more GAMEPLAY: Works good as any space shooter should, with all the bells and whistles of weapons as well. And just like other space shooters there's the one-hit kills mechanic. OVERALL: The game is great, a lot of fun, and very addicting. Music is fine, graphics are pretty, and it's a finely crafted space shooter.
SWIMMER- SCORE: 3.25 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: You swim, and you avoid logs... too bad the game is crappily put together due to cumbersome, horrific controls and ugly graphics. GRAPHICS: TERRIBLE! MUSIC: GOD-AWFUL, VERY ANNOYING! GAMEPLAY: Horrific controls, the sheer act of turning properly is even harder than avoiding logs! OVERALL: The quality of this game is very, very poor. From the controls, to the music, to the graphics, everything is so poorly assembled you'll wonder why Tecmo even included this game instead of just letting it die.
SOLOMIN'S KEY- SCORE: 7.75 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: Your goal is to collect a key for every stage to progress to the next. This means you must destroy giant blocks to get to it, while summoning new ones to make a staircase to get there. This may sound terrible but it really isn't. GRAPHICS: Definitely need a touch up, but it looks okay. MUSIC: Not very much is here, but it's alright. GAMEPLAY: Controls are confusing at first, but you'll get the hang of them. Block destroying and summoning works fine, but the responsiveness could use some work. OVERALL: This game is fun, but a bit difficult for a lot of modern gamers. This game would be pretty good as a remake if the controls were worked on. A good game to pass the time.
STAR FORCE- SCORE: 9 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: This is yet another space shooter, but it's the best one in this great package. GRAPHICS: Looks like an Atari game, again, in vain of Planet Smasher, or even the look of the SNES space shooter Gradius III. MUSIC: Surprisingly cheery during your epic battles against aliens. GAMEPLAY: This is a top-down shooter, the gameplay works great, the extra weapons are hidden when you destroy enemies, it's a one-hit kill game, and it's a helluva lot of fun. OVERALL: Yet another great space shooter with great gameplay, good old 8-bit graphics, and everything a fan of space shooters could want.
PINBALL ACTION- SCORE: 7.25 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: As the title suggests, this is indeed a pinball game. GRAPHICS: Look likes this game needs a little TLC, looks like a dated early 16-bit game. MUSIC: Old and kind of annoying GAMEPLAY: Works fine, ball physics could use a little work, but it's a fun way to pass the time. OVERALL: This isn't the greatest pinball video game ever, but it's enjoyable nonetheless, just needs some work and maybe should get resurrected for Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, or the Wii's Virtual Console.
TECMO CUP- SCORE: 7.5 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: It's a top-down soccer game. GRAPHICS: Old and not very interesting MUSIC: Puts you in the mood to play a good game of soccer. GAMEPLAY: The basic controls function properly, it's a lot of fun to win games, but it can become a little haphazard to steal the ball and to pass it to other teammates. OVERALL: Not the greatest sports game ever, and could use some polishing when it comes to gameplay. But, if you're a soccer fan this game is perfect for you.
SENJYO- SCORE: 2 OUT OF 10 WHAT THE GAME IS: Take a space shooter, make the space craft stay in one area and try and shoot enemies, and make it totally suck! Folks prepare to have your happy memories of space shooters trashed, stomped on, spit on, pissed on, vomited upon, and so much more! Undoubtedly the worst game in this package. GRAPHICS: Perhaps the only highlight to this crappy game, it looks like an nice 16-bit game. MUSIC: Total garbage. GAMEPLAY: Never functions properly, you can't hit any enemies, and you will constantly die! OH JOY!! OVERALL: Go play a real space shooter, you'll just end up hating yourself for playing this sorry sack of pure, toxic, hideous, unabridged horror.
So there you have it, all 11 games reviewed. All but two being fun. If you love retro games you'll most certainly love this game because it's packaged with many great games.』
(For arcade nostalgia buffs only!) 『I bought this game because I fondly remember playing games like Rygar and Bomb Jack at the arcade or at the pizza parlor when I was a kid, not because any of the games on here are particularly high-quality. In fact, Tecmo's best and most well-known arcade title, Ninja Gaiden, isn't even included in this collection (they saved it to include as an extra in Ninja Gaiden Black for the Xbox). As is the case with Tecmo Bowl, many gamers don't know that the wildly popular NES version of Ninja Gaiden had its roots in an arcade title (known for its gory continue screen more than anything else). If, like me, you're a sucker for classic arcade compilations and enjoy a trip down memory lane, I'd recommend picking this up on the cheap (I got it on eBay for less than $10, brand new, including shipping). If you want to play the Tecmo Bowl you remember from your childhood, download it on the Wii Virtual Console for $5.00.』
(Depending on Your Gaming Needs) 『First, you know if the titles are for you or not. If you need nostalgia or an interlude of "where are we now" or even want to hit a bargain bin, there are some good games mixed in with some bad ones. This isn't debating the validity of the purchase but hoping to clarify some of the mentioned titles and let you decide if the price is worth it.
Techmo Bowl - Really old Techmo game that is the arcade version. Personally I would rather playa later Tecmo Bowl (like 3) if I needed a fix that badly, but the side-scroller is still fun if taken is small doses.
Rygar - While the remake didn't really measure up, Rygar was a good game in its day. Another side-scroller, only this comes with implements that make it upgradeable. Better weapons, more heath; all the classic symptoms of a carry-over world.
Solomon's Key - Were I to buy this, I would buy it for this game. Personal choice and not well known, but its basically a game where you navigate treacherous puzzle-based rooms with destroyable blocks, fireballs, and monsters that are sometimes a bit horrible the first go. The challenge feels rewarding somehow.
Bomb Jack - This was fun when it first came out and had a few entries later on. Basic but fun.
And the others are offshoots of things like Defender, of Frogger with water and logs to dodge, and Pinball with pretty pictures. Titles included and not directly mentioned: Starforce, Tecmo Cup, Pleaids, Senjyo, Swimmer, and Strato Fighter.
』
(Old games that are fun for about 3 minutes...) 『The arcade tecmo bowl is nothing like the original NES tecmo bowl, but I still wanted to give it a try. It's a pretty bad football game but it's cool to see where tecmo bowl started. To play on the Xbox 360 you have to set your console's video resolution to 480p instead of 1080.. that is sort of a pain to change back and forth. The other games are ok for about 5 minutes then I went back to playing Madden 07.』 『Tecmo Classic Arcade will bring back original, classic arcade Tecmo titles like Tecmo Bowl, Ryga, Solomon's Key, Bomb Jack, Tecmo Cup, Pleiads, Senjyo, Star Force, Swimmer, Strato Fighter, and Pinball Action. One thing that doesn't disappoint is Tecmo's attention to emulation detail. The games run at full speed and don't drop any frames. The gallery option gives you a few pages of side art, marquee images, sales sheets, and other tidbits of artwork from Tecmo's past.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (loved it) 『we were very happy with the ease of the purchase and speedy delivery. the game was in the exact condition that was stated.』
(Fugetta bout it; Great game!) 『I think some of the detractors are missing the point.
Madden 2005 is undeniably great, but it is time to try some new things with some really useful additions.
The best one for me is, you can finally set your receivers to go the necessary yards in any pattern to go the necessary yards for a first down! That alone beyond extremely useful! O.k, so quarterback vision isn't so great. Shut It Off! EA is pro active in trying new things to make a better gaming experience. If you spend time with it, it WILL win games for you.
The truck stick is the hit stick, except you running back gets to flatten someone. Great addition!
Your offensive line is now fully adjustable to allow for the best pass protection.
There is an audible mode where you select the X button, right thumbstick for a long pass, short pass, play action, or run WITHOUT your formation changing. The defense is not tipped off when you are change the play, and you can get some great mis matches. That was a great idea!
Defense is improved by selecting the back you want to double cover with, and slides your linebackers and corners into better position to defend.
Madden 05 was almost perfect. This game made some changes. Some great, some not great. You do have the option of turning them off, or not using them, so no harm done. At least they're trying to keep it interesting.
Some folks are wondering, "Where are the cheerleaders?" You're kidding right? Dude, when they come on, should we leave the room for you? C'mon, man I'm playing football here!
Great game with some innovative additions; all of which you can shut off, or not use. Oh, and if you're I'm not looking for a cyber peep show...go buy a calendar or something.
』
(This game is OK.) 『This game is a OK game, but the one flaw is when you pass to a WR he usally drops the catch. But SuperStar mode is really good. After you finish your career in College Football (Race for the Heisman) If you were a legend in your college you will go to the NFL. I was a legend in Boston College being QB. Then I enter the NFL draft and got drafted by the Baltimore Ravens. When you are in SuperStar mode you can demand a trade and you can complain about your coaches. My brother playes SuperStar and he's on the Oakland Raiders. And the demos on EA Sports Extras are pretty cool the demo for Burnout Revenge is very cool and you get movie clips from other vidoe games, like Madden 06 XBOX 360, Superman Returns, NCAA Football 06,NBA Live 06,and Arena Football. This game is OK but it is worth 20 bucks.』
(Some additions were great others not so much) 『Madden 06 is still the Madden everyone is addicted. The biggest changes this year is the inclusion of the qb vision and precision passes. These two things are by far one the best new features in 06. It addes another layer of realism and lot more challenge for those who constantly pump up the difficulty level. It takes a little getting used to but once you get a feel for it your gonna love it. The downside is that those two things are really the only new features worth mentioning. One big add on for 06 besides the new qb features is the Superstar mode. On paper it sounds very promising and for the first few minutes I was enjoying myself then massive boredom sets in. There are a few words that describe superstar mode well let's see: tedious, boring, lame, stupid, repetition!!!!, oh and did I mention boring and most importantly crap. It is unfortunate that the Superstar mode turned out to be a collassoul failure but honestly EA what is the fun in playing through endless practices and retarded interviews and acting gigs. Sure making idiotic rants to your agent can be fun but nothing lasts forever. Unless you really like doing the sme thing over and over you'll be simulating just about every event on your calendar besides actual games. I hope that in the upcoming Madden 07 that the superstar mode is fixed. Knowing EA my hopes aren't to high. The one player perspective thing for 07 sounds good but there has got to be more changes made to the superstar mode than just that. Other flaws present in 06 include that god awful radio brodcaster Tony Bruno and John Madden who probably hasn't recorded a new line of dialogue for the game in years, unfortunately that is probably a good thing. So overall Madden 06 delivers what the gamers want. The game has it's flaws but 06 proves to be a whole lot of fun. I can't wait for Madden 07, just about a month now, which should touch up the issues in 06 but who knows how much.』
(great but playbook glitches) 『it is a great game good graphics, good sound, good button layout and fun gameplay! this part i HATE!!!!!. i love to make playbooks but you cant use them in season for instanstce i made a play where a wr lines up as a hb and i run the hb pass play but instead of willie parker its randel ell or ward. or moss or porter. i was so exciteed! then i went to fanchise mode and changed my playbook and i could not find my playbook. my advice ea sports in madden 07 make ur playbooks usful in season!』 『For the first time in 10 years, the Madden NFL Football franchise has revolutionized its passing game-giving Madden NFL 06 the most groundbreaking and innovative offensive arsenal ever created. The new QB Vision Control lets you scan the field, look off defenders, and make perfect throws within your quarterback's unique field of vision. QB Precision Placement allows you to put the ball exactly where you want it. Lead the receiver to an open area, throw it behind him so he can come back to it or throw a jump ball and let him go get it.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Not the Excitement I Rember / Good for Newbies) 『For new causal gamers who never played Tetris before, this is quite good. However, for those trying to relive memories from the past, I didn't think it was anything special. The graphics are better, but I miss the block-style from before and the old music. The music is all new techno and none of the old. The menus and multi-player seem quite unpolished. I haven't played the single-player form though.』
(I bought this used and still not worth it) 『This game is super lame. I played it for all of 5 minutes and then put it in its case and haven't looked at it since. It's really boring, and the levels suck. It's just tetris, there's nothing more, and it's really easy and boring. I bought it for 1/3 of the price listed on amazon and I still hate it. Go with something else.』
(NOT IMPRESSED! But this game came free with our xbox) 『I was really excited when I purchased our xbox to see that Tetris was one of the free games that came with our system. This was the first game I played on the xbox and I was not impressed. I have played tetris on just about every console that made this game. I always liked it and loved to play Tetris. My expectations of this game was the graphics would be great and it would have lots of new things added to it....wrong! The game is very hard to see, they have a tiny screen for the game play and a background on the sides- why??? If they would have made this game full screen I might have given it a better review. I have a 36' tv and I can hardly see to play this game! My husband also complained about this. Not a good choice, but it was free, so who can complain too much?』
(I was hoping for some sort of improvement.) 『"Tetrisphere" came out for the Nintendo 64 back in 1997. In my mind, it is still the gold standard for Tetris games. H2O tinkered with the extremely addictive puzzle game and took a big chance with it. The developers made the game 3D and risked alienating a lot of video game enthusiasts by tampering with a proven formula. Instead, the title was a big success and showed that a popular game can be dramatically changed without losing any of its fun factor.
With that said...this game plays it too safe and is only fun for a few hours. Three of the Tetris variations included have already been seen before and the other three variations are nothing to get excited about. THQ's big contribution to the world of Tetris was their attempt to have a Story Mode. The Minos' sun is going to "go nova" and it's up to you to save their civilization by using Tetrions to open gateways to other worlds. Oooohhhh...how enthralling!
What it all comes down to is this: the player plays six different versions of Tetris. They have to achieve Rank 11 in each of the Tetris games. That's it. There is an opening and closing FMV and that is the whole story. What's the point of that? Yeah...I don't know either.
It goes without saying that the only people who should have bought this game are those who absolutely, positively needed a Tetris game for their Xbox. Otherwise, please be patient and see if a developer out there actually has the courage to revamp the Tetris platform and come out with another winner like "Tetrisphere".』
(SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS) 『I HATE THIS GAME WHY DID THEY MAKE THIS GAME WHY!THEY PLAY TO MUCH MUSIC FOR SUCH A BORING GAME!THE BACKGROUND IS COOL FOR SUCH A DUMB GAME!WHO WANTS TO SAVE THEM NOT ME!PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR BUCKS ON THIS GAME; THIS GAME SHOULD BE FREE!』 『The most popular video games ever is now available on the Xbox platform. With beautiful graphics, six variations of the classic gameplay, and intense multi-player action, you will enjoy endless hours of Tetris fun with the Tetris Worlds Xbox.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Blood Wake is good but could've been better) 『Stormfront Studios' Blood Wake for the Xbox video game console was one of the first generation games for that system. Released in early 2002, Blood Wake combined the fast-paced gameplay and mayhem similar to the Twisted Metal series of games but with boats and water being the vehicle and environment of choice.
The game itself was pretty much, when boiled down to its basic core, an excuse to blow-up and destroy as many targets on the screen as possible during any given stage mission. All this is wrapped in a simple, yet good storyline which unfolds whenever a stage is completed thus unlocking the next one. Just like Twisted Metal, the player can choose from a variety of boats and weapons configuration to play through the game. From the early going the choice are pretty limited, but none of the choices are so bad and basic that one couldn't achieve their stage objectives and unlock better boats and equipment. Most stages just require the player to destroys targets deemed important to finishing the stage with optional ships and coastal defenses as targets of oppurtunity to help pad the score.
The game at the beginning is pretty fun in that the water environment adds a new factor in controlling the vehicles and aiming the weapons. But as the game progresses to later stages of the story it just seemed to rehash earlier levels but with stronger enemies and more side onjectives. From start to finish Blood Wake became an action-shooter which stayed the coure instead of improving with each successive level.
The graphics on Blood Wake was pretty good for a first generation game on the Xbox. The detail on the different boats and their weapons were pretty well done. The water effect and movement were also pretty to look at though if more time was set aside to designing and developing this aspect of the game it could've turned out great.
Overall, Blood Wake became just such a game. It was a good game to try out and rent, but never came close to being a great one to justify having to buy it.』
(what) 『o.k. its called blood wake wheres the blood and a 7 yr old could beat this game easily I should know I watched one play this game sucks』
(Eh, Fun for awhile but not too engaging) 『Blood Wake is another hit braught by the Xbox. The game looks to be promesing but It's really not that great. The graphics engine for the water is just pure and Amazing. I loved how they desighned the levels of water they really made them look awesome. The game is also great with the boats as you can shoot out many different types of ammo and this is one of those pretty cool run and gun fights except...it's with boats.
But the game is lacking. There isn't much to do except run n' gun boats, they don't add anything new to it. The gameplay is good for about 15 minutes but then just gets boring and a little repetitive.
Pros Graphics Lil gampeplay Water desighn
Con Gameplay..hehe Boring story Cutscenes arnt that great Kina repetitive but we can handle it
In the end I give this jumbo sized Xbox Title a
3 out of 5 stars
Lates. 』
(Well............) 『This is a basic copy of Twisted Metal, except on water. You play the role of some asain guy. It's pretty easy untill 3/4 of the way through then baots the were dead with 3 torpedoes are now killed with 5. The controls aren't the greatest part. sometimes when you try to turn you suddenly find yourself in reverse. Graphics are pretty good. Sound isn't something to die for.』
(Boats and guns and ...) 『Thats basiscally it. The game is easy {of course me being horse i love to cheat}I'm unstopable on multiplaya and The level are primarily 3 things guard, invade, and destroy. The last level is easy until the wall part. THEN THE OTHER LEVELS ARE SIMPLE BUT THEY'RE{THE ENEMY} LIKE ROACHES THEY DON'T DIE! But THATS THE FUN PART OF THE GAME.Its hard everybody likes a good challenge {but my friend he screams if he loses i tell him to shut up or i'll do it again.}The multiplayer is fantastic if you have all the boats if not its ok But not as fun. Some games get boring after a while but this one won't get tired for a while now.』 『Vehicle combat games have typically made up a good chunk of any console's library, but in the case ofBlood Wake, the combat is taken to an atypical arena--the sea. Set against the backdrop of an Asian-themed locale where three different groups are vying for power,Blood Wakeis a gunboat combat game that features good action, great graphics, and some of the most impressive water effects ever seen in a game.
Playing as Shao Kai, you are betrayed by your brother and left for dead. After being rescued by a rival warlord, you swear allegiance to that warlord and join forces with him. The story and setting are pretty original for an action game, but the animated cutscenes aren't as engaging as they should have been; after watching the first few, you'll find yourself skipping them and jumping straight to the missions.
Thankfully,Blood Wakescores big in this area. The missions run a wide gamut and will have you defending convoys, attacking enemy cargo ships, and collecting "payments." And though the missions are well designed, occasionally combat can degenerate into you and the enemy turning in circles in an effort to gain the best firing angle.
Over the course of the game you'll have access to over 10 gunboat variations, each armed to the gills with a wide variety of weapons. Though you can't choose which gunboat you'll use before a mission, the game does a nice job of giving you the boat that will best serve your purposes. Controlling the gunboats is fairly straightforward; but, since you need to contend with the physics of the water, some gamers may find the controls a little frustrating at first, especially when turning and moving forward after being stopped. Fortunately, after a few missions gamers will get their sea hands and the controls will become second nature.
Graphically,Blood Wake
『Vehicle combat games have typically made up a good chunk of any console's library, but in the case ofBlood Wake, the combat is taken to an atypical arena--the sea.

Graphically,Blood Wakeis extremely impressive. The gunboats feature lots of little details like cannons ejecting shells, the pilot moving in his seat, and the wood of the gunboat splintering damage as you take hits. The most impressive thing aboutBlood Wake, however, is its depiction of water. Waves crash over your gunboat, wakes impact how you steer, and torpedoes will send up a massive wave that will toss you into the air. It's not just fancy special effects; the water actually dictates how combat unfolds. When fighting in choppy seas you need to make sure you fire when you're at the top of a wave, otherwise your bullets will simply hit a wave in front of you. This is a nice touch and really show the amount of thought that went intoBlood Wake's development.
Because of its fun gameplay and solid multiplayer component (four multiplayer games are included), fans of vehicle combat games owe it to themselves to try outBlood Wake.--William Harms

(DA BOMB RACING GAME) 『This game is a great game if u wanna chalenging, hard to beat racing game. This game has awesome graphics and its not so easy to beat it took me about 30 MINUTES to beat one of the races. Although, sometimes you may get frustrated when you race, and sometimes you're in 1st and then someone comes and knocks you out-or spins you out-you end up in 5th.
Good Things- Awesome Cars (Stock cars in speed and power, Modified cars in speed and power, Pro cars in speed and power, and Unlimitied cars in speed and power) NOT easy to beat good graphics ALOT of races A GOOD GAME Good music, and sound once beaten still really fun to play really good with multiplayer free roam is fun
Bad things- Frustrating at some points when selecting things have to push the button awfully hard easy to win once in front of everyone kind of alot
so overall, A PRETTY GOOD GAME RIGHT(...)』
(Fun if you like arcade style racing.) 『I'm a big fan of arcade style racing, and Test Drive:Off Road took it to the next level. (If you prefer more "realistic" racing where you buy parts&make money see my review on 4x4 Evo2 instead.)
Test Drive delivers the one thing I have wanted from a racing game for years, the ability to choose your own way through a course, AND still win. In '98 Microsoft came out with Motocross Madness, where you rode dirtbikes and did tricks for points, but when you were in racing mode, if you left the track, you didn't stand a chance of winning.
Test Drive is different. There are tracks that you can use, and finish, and win on. But you can choose to go off road and win also. You choose your vehicle based on what you want to do. There are power vehicles and speed vehicles. The speed vehicles do well on the relatively flat dirt tracks that lead to the finish, while the power vehicles that have lower top speeds do better leaving the beaten (longer) path and taking the shortcut over the top of the mountain.
That said, there is still a downside: There are a relatively limited number of races, so if you are like me and tend to finish games quickly then this one won't take you long. It can also be frustrating, because when you play in the hardest mode, the other vehicles will attempt to bump you and make you spin out. That is really annoying when you managed to stay in first place through an entire race, and then get spun out 10 seconds before you hit the finish line and you end up in 5th place.』
(Great multiplayer fun.) 『Let's start out by saying that I never bought this game for a realistic four wheeling adventure. Anyone who wants to claim that any of the 4x4 games out there are realistic has never broken an axle Jeeping down a mountainside. If you want authentic outdoor experiences, leave your living room. However if its a cold and rainy day and you have some friends over tryout the multiplayer "King of the hill" mode. This is the one reason I love this game so much. As for the graphics, well they arent great but getting pumped up by the music and knocking your friends around makes up for it.』 『If you like off-roading but hate real dirt, this is your ticket to ride. Kick up some dust in any of 16 fully licensed off-road ramblers, including the popular Humvee. A faithful entry into the popular TEST DRIVE library, this take features the best graphics, sound, and gameplay yet. The computer's artificial intelligence is very high, making for stiff competition on one-player modes. Travel the world, tackling more than 30 different levels of rollicking play and heated battle.』 『This game takes off-road racing to a new level with 15 licensed off-road vehicles and more than 30 wide-open tracks. With the technological advancements allowed by the Xbox, this new addition to theTest Drive Off-Roadfamily will go beyond what any off-road game has accomplished before. Players will have room to roam in the go-anywhere environment. Players will race freely through expansive real-world locations that are graphically magnificent and true to life in some of the world's most desirable off-road vehicles, making this one of the first must-have racing games for the Xbox.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Secret Weapons Fun and Challenging) 『I am not your typical gamer being retired and only occasionally delving into game playing. I really enjoy Secret Weapons Over Normandy. I find it very entertaining, and it's a challenge for my skill level which apparently isn't that great. Before buying the game, I read some reviews and a few indicated that it was rather easy to play through all the missions. I guess you wouldn't want me in your squadron as I am frequently killed in action before completing a mission! Besides just being a fun experience, I find the overall layout of the game quite good. The graphics are fine, various noise levels are pleasant and not annoying, and there are extras like news clips with commentaries that add to the overall experience. You should be able to purchase this game used for under $10 and I would say that's a good buy considering the many hours of aerial combat that you will enjoy. I don't have any other aerial combat games so I can't provide any comparisons.』
(Rent it, dont buy it.) 『Its about time that xbox released a decent flight simulator for the xbox, with Ace Combat for the playstation series it was proven that excellent combat flight simulators can be made for consoles and unfortunatly Secret Weapons just doesnt hack it. This game however fun is just no flight sim, all aerodynamic are shot and the control of the plane is very limited. Flying becomes very two dimensional as the banking of the plane stops at 45 degrees, not allowing you to pull off barrel rolls or sharp turns. If you treat it as a shooting game, and not a flight sim it may be more enjoyable. The aircraft are all fun, ranging from jet fighters to fighter bombers. And the weapon upgrades make it more fun. Graphics wise the game is fairly lacking for the year it was released, and it is clear that the game designers were trying to keep it as plain as possible as to make it easier to put on multiple consoles. The game play ranges from very easy to moderatly hard, but remains fun the whole time. And it can be beaten in a couple of days leaving it not too long and not very short. I do not recommend buying it, but rent it since it is a fun game knowing you didnt spend 30+bucks on it.』
(SWON = Underrated) 『I don't know WHY this game only rates three stars. No, it's not a straight-on flight sim. No, the graphics aren't the best on XBox. Graphics should take a backseat to gameplay at any rate, and SWON has fantastic gameplay. Easily the best arcade flyer LucasArts has come up with, outstripping the Rogue Squadron series. The vast collection of planes you earn should send any WWII historian and aviation buff into ecstasy (no Corsair, though, sigh).
The plane models are extremely detailed, no problems there. The landscape is a bit bland at times, but specific locations (i.e., the Cliffs of Dover) are instantly recognizable. Other details (explosions, ground vehicles) are simple, but you'll be too busy (and moving too fast) to notice.
The gameplay, as before, is great. Again, it's not a flight sim, so don't judge it as such. Although it is a bit embarrassing to plow into the ground when you're trying to whip around to take out an enemy fighter (whoops). The game's most interesting feature is the time control. You can slow or speed up the flow of time to gain the advantage in a dogfight or to cut down on travel time between target areas. The targeting system helps you lead shots properly, though that can be turned off to see if you're as good as the guys that did this for a living.
The sound and dialogue are all way above par. Every plane has a distinct engine sound, which was actually recorded at an air museum in California. The voice acting is lively but not melodramatic, and helps immerse you in the game. Where the sound really shines, though, is the phenomenal music. I rarely buy game soundtracks, but when I saw SWON's was available, I snatched it up.
The game feels a bit short, though 36 stages is still impressive, and there are several two-player scenarios. (Live subscribers can get even more planes and missions.) The difficulty is above average, also a plus for us older gamers. The replay value is a bit low, but there are always hidden objectives in any given mission. Still, you'll pick it up again after a while because it's just that good. LucasArts and Totally Games, keep up the good work, and hopefully give us another Secret Weapons game sometime soon!』
(a ship without a rudder is like a ship without a rudder.) 『This game could be a whole lot better with rudder controls. If this game wishes to capture WWII combat it needs the barrel rolls and arial stunts, as it is the planes all the planes fly like rockets, not like hawks. Despite this major flaw, I like the target system, and the lanscapes are not bad. However for all around game play SWON should seek some advice from her bueatiful cousin Crimson Skies. Better dogfighting next time, secret weopons of the cold war? I'd love to fly a spyplane.』
(Secret Weapons Over Normandy) 『If you love crimson skies you will love this game.Your name is Chase and your fighting Germany Nemisis and Japan fighters during world war 2.In this game you are fighting against the enemys with your allies Russia,France and Britain. If you like a hard video game this is one.Your not only fighting against planes but also gun turrents, tanks, patrol boats,u2 boats, destroyers and others. On a few missions you get to shoot the planes from the ground in a destroyer or turrent but these are few and far between it's mostly fighting from the air.In between different levels you also have challenges. You unfortuanly must play all challenges, all primary, secondary and bonus missions to get the xwing and tie fighter from star wars. It's not always so easy to get to the bonus missions but you can always go into history and play it later and if you beat it you still get the prize and requisitions to upgrade your planes. There are different planes in this game.My favorite is the JU 262 Jet which you will get to fly in level 12 it is incredibly fast. With requistions you can upgrade your planes armor, enjine, amount of ammo etc.Your armor can be upgraded to 4 the same for the other upgrades. As you go thru the game you get different secondary weapons and on some you can choose which one you use on several missions. You get Missiles which can easily take out ground and air targets from a distance, different types of bombs, torpedoes for navel enemies, cannons and other secondary weapons my favorite is the medium missiles. Also you can choose between 1st person view and 3rd from the menu.1st is much harder because you can't see your plane. As with a comparison between crimson skies and normandy crimson is easy I've beat it over 6 times this one is hard because some of the planes fly high over you and you can't reach them or you will stall. Also it is easy to crash in this game if your going for ground targets.I love the explosions they look good when planes, tanks, boats, hangers, anti aircraft guns and others explode. If you plane takes a lot of damage you can fly to the parmoson airfield for repair and get your weapons replintished but landing is tricky and sometimes you can crash or even get shot down while your on the ground rolling to the airfield. Also friendly fire happens. You can accidently shoot down your allies if your not careful althougth the enemies and allies are labled sometimes it is still possible because of so many planes in the sky. Some missions involve you protecting your allies while there taking out targets, etc and some involve specific targets you must knock out. There is all kind of enviroments hear. You get to fight at night with the stars and moon in the background,There is snow cover in the russian missions, mountains, oceans etc.The gunfire sounds pretty relistic. Also you open up mini video movies from the history channel in between missions that tell you what actually happen in WWII with actual footage. Also get the Prima Guide to go with this game it is pretty helful. If you like current jet fighter air games get ace combat 4 which is even better than this one.It even has actual jet sounds and cockpit view.It is the reason I have a Ps2 because it isn't on xbox so I have both consoles. Here is some strong and weak points of this game.
Strenths Choice between 1st and 3rd person view. A large variety of planes and secondary weapons. Nice enviroments. When you finish you get the xwing and tie fighter from starwars to play in challenge mode.
Requisitions to upgrade your plane are easy to get. Explosions look good and weapons sound relistic especially bullits. Training missions to show you how to fly, dogfight, drop bombs etc. You can call on wingmen to help defend you if you need too.
Weakness No cockpit view Planes stall too easily The game is hard get ready to see your plane shot down many times. Some secondary and bonus missions are hard to complete
If you like this game also pick up crimson skies.Normandy is very addicting you will love it if you love air combat or war games.』
『Join a secret squad of pilots dedicated to thwarting the most heinous plans of the Third Reich. Fly over twenty authentic aircraft across thirty daring missions in this new WWII action-flyer. Lawrence Holland, the legendary creator of Star Wars: X-Wing, Star Wars: Tie Fighter and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe returns with an exhilarating new game of action and intrigue. Can you be trusted with the most dangerous secrets of the war?』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (This game's awesome..) 『Quality and graphic's are very much fair.. Fast shipping as well..i got this game in less than two weeks..usually i recieved my orders in about a month.lol』
(Could be better) 『The game has plenty of fighters and lots of options for moves, but at the end of the day, the lasting effect just fades out. If you're gonna buy it, buy it cheap (or just wait for the next UFC game which will be awesome).』
(Tapout 2 Review) 『Tapout 2 is a good quick fix UFC game for the Xbox. Don't look for much depth or replay value though, it took me all of about a day and a half to clear the entire game on all levels. Some gimmicky controls and bugs keep this from having to high of a replay value but its okay if all you want to do is pick up a controller and have a quick bout with a friend, because it will be quick. 』
(Tapout 2 is the best MMA game to date.) 『I think that Tapout 2 is the best MMA game to date. If you like the UFC you will love Tapout 2.』
(Good pick) 『I bought this game for my boyfriend for christmas and he loves it. I guess it's pretty good can't say that I know much about the UFC, but he does. So if he enjoys it I reccomend it!』 『The most realistic and intense full contact fighting game.』
Core2Duoノートレビュー 's review (Sent timely) 『I got this in a timely manner. I have been unable to use it yet.』
(XBOX Advanced AV Pack) 『I got this cable to attach my xbox to my newly purchased LCD TV. It does exactly as it sates. The images are great. There are no gaps in the signal or snowy lines. The native xbox cables do not produce the same quality of signal. This product is worth the money.』
(Great for Audio, Terrible for Video) 『I used the "Advanced A/V Pack" for many years and never realized back when I purchased it that S-Video was only capable of 480i Standard Definition (SD) resolution. For some reason I must have thought that S-Video was capable of 480p/720p/1080i back then.
In any event, you really need component cables to get that HD Quality video playback. I recommend ditching this and purchasing the HD Pack to get the Digital Audio (S/PDIF) and the Component Outs (Y/Cb/Cr).
』
(A nice step up from rca cables) 『I got this for two reasons: 1) I noticed that my dvd player delivered cleaner video with an S-Video connection, so i wanted that for my XBox. 2) I wanted to play Halo in surround sound.
I am completely satisfied.
p.s. - After you connect this to your surround sound, make sure to go into the Audio menu from the XBox console to set up surround sound options. Otherwise, you'll only get stereo.』
(Awesome Sound!) 『Using the Advanced AV Adapter with a fiber optic cable gives you true dolby 5.1 sound (assuming you have a surround sound system). It is absolutely amazing! I've tested Halo and PGR2 with the new setup and it adds a new whole dimension to both games. I highly recommend this adapter. Using the S-video connection will also improve your picture quality: unfortunately it does not have component connections (red, blue, green) for the very best video quality.』 『The Xbox Advanced AV Pack allows integration between the Xbox video game system and televisions or receivers that utilize optical digital audio input for Dolby Digital playback, as well as S-Video input.』
