It thinks outside the box, it's different from all other games, you are never given a weapon; instead it requires a lot of thought and quick reflexes, and it's the only game that actually qualifies as a game of drama. WHAT THE GAME IS: Well, it qualifies as an adventure game, but you can't exactly pigeonhole it into what kind of game it is, it's that unique. It's January 2009, in New York City, a series of murders involving ordinary people who kill total strangers in public places is occurring. There is no connection between these murders other than they all follow the same ritualistic killing methods. One of the protagonists in a game; Lucas Kane; becomes the latest person to kill someone in a public place. For no apparent reason, Lucas kills a man in the bathroom of a restaurant, so he must avoid capture from the police. The story also stars two police detectives; Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles; who are working on the case and they are playable characters as well. The game is all about quick reflexes and strategically (not to mention frantically) carrying out your actions and choosing what the characters say during a conversation. GRAPHICS: These graphics don't look that great, even for when it was released in 2005. The textures are lousy and the animation is stiff. MUSIC: It's good and it sets the drama mood as well as for the frantic moments of gameplay. SOUNDS: Mostly just talking. GAMEPLAY: Okay, let's just get the bad part out of the way, the controls are awful and are very difficult to get used to. The gameplay relies almost exclusively on the analog sticks, I'm not kidding. Almost all the movements and actions are done via analog sticks. But once you get the hang of the controls, the game turns out to be quite an entertaining piece of work. There are no guns, no weapons of any kind. The gameplay revolves around the everyday lives of Lucas and the two detectives. Whether it be relationship problems, going to work, working on the computer, analyzing evidence and crimes, drowning your sorrows in alcohol or drugs, saving people from drowning, hiding evidence, having strange visions, engaging in conversation, opening things, listening to music, playing guitar, and avoiding becoming an emotional wreck this drama title has got all of this and more. It requires a lot of use from your brain, so if you only like the old Xbox for shooters, you won't like this game because it has no weapons. OVERALL: If you like games that are out of the ordinary, this game is definitely worth a look if you please. But be warned about the controls and camera problems. I wish developer Quantic Dream had spent more time fine-tuning the controls, but what's here is just fine and quite entertaining. I honestly would be more than willing to play Quantic Dream's upcoming Heavy Rain, but the question is, when does it come out, and will it go multi-platform (So far it has only been announced for PS3)? (Very addicting game! 2009 Review) 『If you were to look over my past reviews, you will see I have never rated a game higher than 4 stars, but I feel obliged to make Chaos Theory my first! it's strange that the only game I have ever rated with 5 stars, just so happens to be an original xbox game... Does that go to show they don't make video games like they use to?
About a month ago I beat Splinter Cell Double Agent on the xbox 360 for a second time to experience the branching storylines, and though I enjoyed the entire game, I couldn't help but notice it felt like the weakest in the series. I was excited in completed it in excitment for the release of Conviction in the fall. Unfortunately that title was once again pushed back until March of 2010, and left me lingering with the urge to play another stealth game.
I recall seeing Choas theory available for download through Xbox live, but I was reluctant to purchase it because I am very keen in owning the original artwork and casing of a video game. I was lucky enough to grab a copy of this game at a local store "second spin", that buys, sells, and trades used: Cd's, dvd's and video games. Only costing me $7.99, I was very happy to go home and play through this game, since it's been 4-5 years since i last played it when I owned the original Xbox.
When I finally got into the game, I was amazed how good the graphics looked, being it's not a next-gen video game. To my amazement, Chaos Theory rates higher than Double Agent, which was release for the next-gen console. I can't believe how much fun this game is, there is seriously not one pet-peeve I have with this game, there isn't any con's that I can think of, besides the fact that I maybe have played it for too many hours in a row! Needless to say, but I definitely found my stealth game to keep me busy until Convictions release. For the past couple days I haven't even cared to play any other games in my libriay, I'm simply addicted to Chaos Theory, and I think it's safe to say that up-to-date, this title is the best in the series!
If you are looking to play one of the best stealth out in the market, don't hesitate to grab Chaos theory, not to mention it gives you the option of being stealth or going through the levels full assualt! You can even do a little of both if you'd like... You can sneek around the guards with no alerts, maybe knock out a few on the way to your objective, or you can equip your assualt rifle and make a mess along the way. There are just so many cool gadgets, and ways to approach an situation that the replay value of this game is unheard of with other creators. You can hang upside down and snap an enemy neck as they walk by, you can do the splits in the middle of a hallway and drop down on an enemy as they walk by, you can short out the lights and creep behind them as they investigate, you can pick up their unconcious bodies and hide them in a shadowed area, so you are not made. I can go on and on, but it's better if you just go pick up this classic title and enjoy hours of pure entertaiment.
Chaos Theory was one of those rare games that was years ahead of it's time.

(Incredible....nothing more to say.) 『Alright, if you've played Splinter Cell Pandora Tommorrow like I have, I think you can sympathize with me saying it wasn't so desirable. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory takes the steps at Splinter Cell Pandora Tommorrow and transforms its title from Ho-ho-horrible to ho-ho-holy ****!This game has SOOOOO many more add ons, and they've all been for the better. PROs: -You can walk backwards in this game with or without a meat-shield. Now I know that doesn't sound like much, but if you've played the previous games, and had to take the time for Sam to turn all the way around when a guard is coming.....gunshots, mission failure, etc. You get the point. -Sound Monitor. Oh yeah, baby! If you want to walk loud or softly, this thing can tell you if it is safe or not to do so. It tells you your current sound level and ambient sounds (background) so you know if the background noises cancel out yours. Its nice! -Instant knockout system. This is what we have all been waiting for. Remember how Sam had to knock out a guard which was facing him in the face up close by elbowing him twice. You could be shot and killed in that time! Not anymore! From here on out, when the guard gets close, simply hit R (to kill him) or L (to knock him out. More points goes to knocking out ;) It takes one hit, and they are down. Easy as that. -Three words: OCP. Wait, thats three letters.....nevermind! This thing can, get this, hack a computer from several feet away from the computer. That's right! No more up close and personal in the computer screen's face in the light... This think can even tell if something is jammable or not. Which leads us to number 5 (and sadly our last:() -Jammer. Ever been caught at that light you knew could be shot out, but you JUUUUST couldn't get she shot right? (BOOM!) Miss. Well good job, Elmer Fudd. Now the alarms are raised and you gotta hide from the guards. This jammer knocks out the light without destroying it. Oh and get this, if you miss, no noise. NO NOISE! No alarms, no gunshots, no death. It's an electronic jammer, so no more pesky bullets missing their targets!(Stupid bullets!)

DDR Game

Should be modded for durability) 『Background I own two pads before this pad which are the original Red Octane Ignition (~$80) and the other one (~$60) whose name I don't remember (something with Ultra or Deluxe, I am not sure). My level is about 7-9 "feet" in Bemania DDR games.
Things I like about this pad: 1) Button Elevation. There are extra foam pads under arrow buttons which feels different from non-arrow buttons. Very helpful. I no longer have to look down to adjust my position. My other pads don't have this.
2) Good Sensitivity. I don't have to hit exactly at the center of the arrow buttons in order for it to register. Very good for difficult songs. My other pads are also equally sensitive when they were new.
3) USB Connection. Even though there are plenty of cheap PS2-to-USB adapter, the USB connection is a nice feature.
4) The foam insert seems to be of the same quality as that in my Red Octane pad and is better than that in my other pads.
Things I don't like: 1) The top surface does not seem as durable as I hope. It seems even thinner relative to my Red Octane pad. However, after modding, it is good to go. Please see the detail below.
2) It is difficult to insert the foam for the first time. I think that the cover might not be stretched enough. Please be careful not to use too much force or you might break the seams.
----Durability/Modding--------- Both of my previous pads last about a year before the top surfaces began to tear apart. (The Red Octane last a bit longer and the other one.) Unfortunately, this new pad does not seem to be more durable than my last two. Therefore, this time I decided to mod it. I have been playing for two weeks and it has been working perfectly. Modding does not seem to effect the sensitivity as far as I am concerned. The only thing is that the effect of extra foam under the arrow is less noticeable which is less than ideal. However, I have gotten used to looking down from time to time so I can live with this. --------------------------------
In summary, this is a great pad for the money. It will probably last a long time if you are a casual player. If you are an intermediate to advance player, I would recommend modding it.』

(I love this mat) 『This is the best mat ever. I had the normal version of this mat and i liked it but now this one is so much better. I play on stepmania. I used to only be able to do lv 5 songs but now i can ace lv 8 songs. this mat doesn't slide and is easy to transport. The foam is a little hard to get in but once its in it works great. The buttons are raised and harder so you can feel where they are so you don't have to look down. All i can say is if you don't want to break your budget and you want to be able to travel with it get this mat!』
(Very good so far....) 『First I will start off by saying I've had this pad for only 3 days now. I have played with it non-stop and I absolutely LOVE it to death.
Now, a couple of things I wanted to address here.
First, like another reviewer said, there is a strong plastic smell from this pad, so let it air out awhile before you use it unless you like a plastic smelling environment.
Second, I have only played stepmania with this pad. It seems like certain times when I step down on the correct arrow, it doesn't register. I think it's because I stepped in the wrong spot cause I don't look down usually, but I'm not exactly sure. I've messed up on a few songs even though I know I thought I hit the arrows right.
Third, and I don't even really think I should mention this, if you're playing with the marvelous step timing on, then you might notice a .001 second lag on this pad, because for the most part, i usually have to step a 1/100th of a second before the arrow comes up to get a marvelous step. But other times it's synced well (it could also depend on how well the song is synced)
It is kind of frustrating to get the foam padding in this pad, but that's because I've never dealt with foam pads before. I can tell you that if you pull too hard trying to force the pad around the foam to zip it up, the pad will rip. (it ripped a tiny bit on me)
In terms of stability, the pad is a little bit different than what you typically see. The arrow buttons have their own curved area so you know where you are stepping which helps, but it also feels like you have to step out farther compared to the arcade pad. Also, this pad hardly moves at all. Only when I'm playing INSANELY hard songs will this pad jiggle. But for the most part, it's very sturdy.
I've heard Ignition pads fail quickly. This pad has worked great for me so far overall, with a couple of flaws but I'll get used to it.
Worth the money? Yes.
Easy to assemble? Meh, not exactly.

They are the cheapest ones out there, and usually don't last more than 2 months or so for me. The only reason I like them is because the mute button is conveniently located at the base of the controller, making it easy to turn your voice on and off with your thumb. The bad part is that this headset is extremely cheap. One of them the wiring came out and stopped working completely, another one the microphone stopped transmitting my voice, but I could still hear people through the headphones. And the one I have now works but randomly. I should probably just get the original xbox 360 headset for $10 more....』
(Cheap, worse than the original.) 『I bought this to replace the original headset that came with the Xbox, which I accidentally broke. This one feels sturdier, but that's the only good thing.
Though the switch is near the controller which makes it easier to mute when needed, (I'm not one of those annoying people who have conversations with other people or talk on the phone while my microphone is on) but the switch is very cheaply made. The switch doesn't slide smoothly, it has to be forced, and the volume control is even worse than the switch.
I like having the microphone on the right side of my face, but this one only allows it to be on the left. The microphone itself is very poor quality, it has to be almost in my mouth for anyone to be able to hear me, in fact I had to take the foam cover off to make it easier for it to pick up my voice.
The whole thing is uncomfortable, too. I had to take the ear pad that came with it off and put on the thicker one from my broken headset, and had to try to force the head band thing to bend without breaking it so it didn't squeeze against my head. Still, after a mere hour or so, the headset becomes extremely uncomfortable.
I gave this headset 2 stars because it could be worse, I guess. It could have broken already, like some people have commented. I should have bought another of the basic set that came with the Xbox.』

And This comes from someone who was raised on the series - from the first PC version and Wolfenstein on the Commodore 64.
The fun was gone for me. The graphics were there, the action was there, but it just lacked something... As i could play Doom 1&2 for hours upon hours, I couldn't stand another 10 minutes of this game. It lacked the draw and fun of say, the Half-Life games.
I hope Quake 4 is better.』

Hell on Mars Your character is a low-ranking Marine on a routine rotation to the Mars Research Facility of the United Aerospace Corporation (UAC). That's pretty much all the backstory you need.Doom 3is a bit skimpy in the storyline department, but rich plotting and character development have never been the focus of the Doom franchise. Action is the name of the game here, and we found plenty. After a few minutes of wandering through the facility, listening to rumors about impending catastrophe from the staff (rememberHalf-Life?), it was time to start shooting. We fought our way through dark, lavishly detailed environments until finally doing battle with pure evil in the depths of hell. Although the game offers no opportunities to explore the Martian setting apart from the linear corridors of the research facility, good level design and well-crafted sound effects succeeded at scaring the living heck out of us all the way through.
Fearsome monsters. Dimly lit environments. The perfect recipe for horror.
Creature Discomforts Groaning zombies and the sudden leaping attack of an eleven-eyed Imp are just the beginning of the horror and anxiety inDoom 3. Floating Cacodemons attack from above with a mouthful of teeth... ethereal Revenants fire flesh-seeking missiles with deadly accuracy... a swarm of spider-like Trites skitter down the corridor, hungry for blood. Although the enemy AI inDoom 3is less crafty than we would have liked, the incredible variety of enemies--each with a unique style of attack--outweighs this shortcoming somewhat.
Guns, Guns, Guns While there are many powerful weapons in the game, they are designed to force players to anticipate and plan for firefights. For instance, we liked wielding the chaingun to shred enemies at longer ranges, but the weapon devours ammo and using it on close-range targets was a waste of bullets. We quickly learned to switch to the shotgun or the chainsaw to dispatch foes at close range.
One piece of hardware, the flashlight, was a point of both salvation and frustration for us.Doom 3is a dark game and many enemies know how to take advantage of it. You'll often find yourself switching back and forth between your weapons and your flashlight just to see what's lurking ahead. This problem might easily be solved by duct-taping the flashlight to your equipped weapon, but, alas, we found no duct tape on Mars.
Looking Good Doom 3looks incredible. Every room is exquisitely detailed, from the shimmer of the air near a heat source to the texture of a hamburger sitting on the counter of the company mess hall. Id obviously went all out designing every creature in the game and their realism makes them all the more horrifying. The eye candy does come at a price, though, and we were forced to play at fairly low resolution even on a Pentium IV 2.8 GHz and an ATI Radeon 9500. Even so, gameplay was smooth as silk. For higher resolutions (1024 x 768 and above) the latest generation of ATI or Nvidia cards is suggested.--Joshua Gunn

It's absolutely phenomenal! If you can deal with the certainly less-than-spectacular graphics when compared to current popular games (especially GTA IV), I promise you'll have a blast! There are actually many more side missions and fun things to do in this game than GTA IV. Even after beating the main storyline, you'll still have hours upon hours of extra tasks that you can complete. Rockstar should have remade this game for GTA IV. A must buy!!』

I will say that the learning curve is steep on this game, and the controls are not entirely intuitive during large battles and it sometimes feels like you lost a battle due to the controls more then the enemy.
Overall if you like strategy but always wondered how it felt to be one of the soldiers you were ordering around, this game is quite cheap now so I say pick it up!』
