(Jacques Lemans Men's Formula 1 Chrono 1970 review) I selected this watch as my graduation gift and I am happy with it. Sure it isn't the Tag Heuer that I had in mind, but it was a tenth of the price. It is a $600 retail watch available at a fraction of that price. If you are looking at a purchase of a chronometer THAT DOES WORK IF YOU KNOW HOW TO USE IT, tachymeter, and sport orientated design, this watch will not fail you. Jacques Lemans is a young name, but a quality name as well. The leather strap is comfortable and appears durable. I haven't had the watch for long, but it does not show any signs of wear from over the past month.
The watch has a good weight, does not look or feel cheap, and works as it was designed to do.
If my watch were to be stolen or somehow managed to be damaged beyond repair, I would buy this watch again. Hopefully that says something for how I feel about this watch. Tremendous F-1 Fan. Watch is OK, but the chronometer has no utility. Comfortable watch, good for single date and keeping time Leather strap is comfortable. With a detailed facade displaying multi-functional subdials, this Jacques Lemans F1 chronograph is style built with precision. The Chrono 1970 from Jacques Lemans reflects the mythology and philosophy that surrounds Formula One racing. Just like the highest class of auto racing, the design of this timepiece is completed with the highest quality materials, including a fine black leather band, an ion-plated tachymeter bezel, and a stainless steel 45.5-millimeter case. In addition to timekeeping on the black dial, the Chrono 1970 shows its affinity to the high-speed sport with a sophisticated alarm, countdown, world timer, and 24-hour time zone function. Powered by Japanese quartz movement, this men's watch is water resistant to 330 feet and comes with a two-year manufacturer's warranty. (For a real F1 FANS)
(It's a $100 watch)
(nice watch)
(GREAT BARGAIN!!) This is a very nice watch, very nice materials and it's eye catching, if you buy it you'll get a lot of nice comments on it, the strap is very nice on materials and form, the hour hands bright on night, the details like the F1 sign on the main know are very very nice, the face is not white it is light gray. The construction of the watch is quite solid. Over all it is a very nice sports watch very worthy for the price. THIS WATCH IS MUCH MORE IMPRESSIVE IN PERSON, NOT THE PICTURE SHOWS THE BRIGHTNESS THAT REALLY IS, the most I like is its size is quite large. Details such as the F1 IN THE FORM OF PINON AND THE BUCKLE OF BELT TO MAKE Jacme LeMans-F1 is excellent.
5 STARS HAVE AND IF YOU ARE A fan of F1 is not going to regret MAKE THIS PURCHASE.

I am a big F1 fan, and this is one cheap watch. I've had lots of compliments about how nice the band looks. True... the tire looking band does catch the eye, but that is all what it does. As a watch, well it works, but the closer you look at it and cheaper it looks. I guess I can't complain. It's a $100 watch. I guess I will get more looks when I wear it on race day ;) I want to say that this is the best watch Iv ever had. much better looking real than on the picture. THIS JACQUES LeMANS WATCH IS ONE HECK OF A TIME PIECE.. CAN USE IT AS WATCH, SEC TIME ZONE, AND IT HAS SPLIT TIME FUNCTION. LOOK'S GREAT. TRUE CONVERSTION PIECE. GENTLEMEN BE WARNED! PEOPLE WILL STOP YOU IN THE STREET, AT WORK, ANYWHERE. JUST TO ADMIRE THIS FINE TIME PIECE! AS AN AVID WATCH COLLECTOR, I HAVE BOTH GOOD AND POORLY MADE WATCHES. THIS BEAUTY DEFFINETLY RANK'S UP THERE IN THE TOP 10! T. W. With a detailed facade displaying multi-functional subdials, this Jacques Lemans F1 chronograph is style built with precision. Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (Poor and inconsistent second-hand alignment)
(chronograph function is very limited)
(Really nice....)
(Just so so) The sweeping second hand is poorly aligned with the minute marker. And the actual alignment changes inconsistently throughout the day. Though this problem may be common to all quartz watches, this watch is too much way off the chart. Got a replacement from Amazon today but it also has the same problem! Looks like the whole batch is like this. But, anyway, I'll keep it for everyday use and as a reminder that I will not buy another quartz again.
Jacques Lemans Men's Sports Suzuka Chronograph Watch #1382F This watch looks quite good but the timing functions are very limited. The watch can only time up to 60 minutes then it resets to zero. There is no way to time beyond 1 hour. The upper right dial is totally wasted, as it only displays 24 hours in 20 minute increments. It has nothing to do with the chronograph aspect of the watch. It is only tied to the time function. The markings on the upper left dial which show elapsed minutes have no larger ticks to show 5 or 10 minute marks. It can be quite hard to read how many minutes have elapsed. If you want to replace the metal band with a rubber wrist band, the tangs measure out at 24mm which may be hard to find. The large second hand is a sweep second hand and is not controlled by the chronograph function. The chronograph aspect of this watch is not very well designed. Jacques Lemans is a brand i was not familiar with... The case is pretty decent size and the bracelet is nice and fits the overall design... The item was in my hands at the exact date it was suppose to be, packaged really nice from amazon... For the price it worths more than 4 stars , but i am not sure if i would have bought it with the original price tag ... Its a serious competition to other med upscale watches outhere... A serious Brand to consider along with Invicta for sure....I had the watch over a month and has performed and looks really good... I would recommend it for sure..... The color of the second hand is not golden, but bright yellow. The watch looks good when I received, what made me disappointed is the watch didn't work when it arrived. I didn't know whether it is because the battery or something else, but that really make me to feel the watch quality is not good(battery or the watch itself) This elegant Jacques Lemans watch is a trust worthy companion and can keep up with a gentleman's sporty lifestyle. Reliable, precise, and sporty, the Jacques Lemans Men's Sports Suzuka Collection Chronograph Watch boasts the accuracy of Japanese quartz movement and a vibrant design. A stainless steel case and elapsed time bezel complement a bold black dial, complete with three subdials, silver-tone hour markers, Arabic numeral at the 12 o'clock position, and a helpful date display between four and five o'clock. Water resistant to 330 feet, this versatile, classic timepiece has a polished stainless steel band for a refined finishing touch, and arrives in a handsome blue presentation box that's ideal for storage or gift-giving. (This Jacques Lemans Is A Great Watch) I just received this watch and I can say it looks even better in real life than on the picture, for the item image doesn't reflect its actual beauty. The watch has a very nice size and weight, its bracelet is really beautiful and it looks pretty nice. All I can say is that it is a steal for the price. I surely recomend it to any watch fan. I own over a dozen watches that I use for different occasions and this blue Jacques Lemans Suzuka Chronograph is one of my favorites. I tend to reach for this one first before any of the others.
Black, gold or silver gets boring and this blue is not in your face but deep, muted and makes the watch much more interesting. The face design has that engineering look but it is not overdone. Well made and on par in heft and quality with Invictas.
This watch looks much better in person than the photographs and I highly recommend it. customer 's review (Gorgeous watch! Beautiful styling.)
(Jacques Lemans Men's Formula 1 Watch) Let's get this out of the way: this is a BIG watch. For those who don't like big watches, stay away from this one. It has to be the largest watch I've ever owned. It's like a miniature wall clock on a band.
That said, I love big watches. I like the heft and feel of them, and they get noticed. Watches are, to some degree, the only universally acceptable jewellery for men (one could argue this point, of course), and while some wear watches strictly for telling time, a watch can be much more than that. It can accentuate the fashion choices you've made. It can catch the eye and get noticed. They can be conversation pieces, symbols of your wealth, or, of course, purely utilitarian methods by which you have the time visible on your wrist easily and without requiring anything more than a glance.
The size of this watch, and its lines and form make it a striking piece of visible jewellery to wear, and will certainly complement any business casual or semi-casual clothing choices. The rugged leather band and automotive look will also nicely complete a more casual and relaxed attire.
It's a gorgeous creation, and easily the most versatile of the Jacques Lemans F1 series watches. Highly recommended. Ordered this as a Christmas present for a big Formula 1 race fan, looked at it when I got it and was surprised at the size of the watch face. This is a really nice watch, great look to it, but the watch face was too big for the gift receiver, a 6'2" guy, so needless to say we didn't keep it. Great watch, but only if you don't mind something that's going to overtake your wrist and lower arm... Stainless Steel case and Black Leather bracelet. Black dial with silver hands and hour markers. Tachymete bezel. Mineral crystal. Buckle clasp. Quartz movement. 53 mm case diameter. 13 mm case thickness. Water resistant to 100m/330ft. Strap Width 25mm Strap Length 9.75 inches. Usually ships in 24 hours customer 's review (Very techno geek camera) It comes with a 150 page manual. In readable (mostly) English. A zillion options. One very nice feature, you can program it to remember most settings. If you want the flash to stay off (which I need most of the time) you can set it to do that, even if you turn it off and on. It seems to have good sensitivity, the image stabilizer works quite well.
As a still camera, about average. As a video camera, a lot for the money. It shoots normal video, HD (1080p, 60 Hz) and fast video, up to 1200 fps. Low resolution above 300 fps, good for things that go bump, not for fancy presentations. The 30-300 fps adjustable setting is not so convenient, you have to set the frame rate each time you shoot. It should be programmable. The 300 fps fixed setting has a resolution of about 512x390, good enough for most sports work.
A comment on pixels. The Ex-F1 has a 6 Mp sensor. You can get a lot more than that for less money, but it's more marketing than real. You have to look at the sensor (CCD/CMOS) size. Real world lenses are limited to about 100 line pairs per mm in what they can resolve. Based on the specs for the Ex, it tries to get 200 lp/mm. So, not real. My little Olympus P&S is over 400 lp/mm. You just can't get there. Fewer pixels for a given chip size usually means better light sensitivy. That helps more than anything else.
For my use, mostly in sports, a very good compromise. The CS prerecord mode is very good. You can get 60 full resolution frames before you press the shutter. It stores them in internal memory and saves after you press the shutter. So you can see what happened just before (up to 60 fps, programmable) With a 16Gbyte SD card, about $25, you can save over 4500 full resolution pictures. (Great, but no igniter attached!)
(Great super lightweight stove)
(Outstanding stove!)
(An Excellent Stove) Great stove, glad I got it! My scale actually weighs it at 2.5 oz (specs state 2.7 oz), and the nice little reflective sack (easy to find in the dark) it comes with weighs 0.25 oz. Boil time seems faster than the 3 min 40 sec listed, I'd estimate on the calm days it took about 2.5 minutes to boil a liter in my broad-based Primus teapot, and on a windy/rainy day closer to 3.5 minutes. Was stable with the teapot on even on windy days. Can't use with a reflective wind-breaker due to it having a plastic part, but worked well with a log wind-break. Fast set-up and take down, fits inside my teapot, lights on the first try every time, used less fuel than I planned on, and the Coleman fuel canisters are self-sealing with no risk of leaking in your pack. I'd highly recommend this to a friend! I just got one. It is very light, small enough to fit into my cooking system when dissembled. Great for light packing. Nice pouch for protection. But unlike the Amazon product description, there is NO push-button ingniter. (Please correct the wrong description!) You need a match for it. I bought this stove a few weeks ago for a backpacking trip in the California Sierras. We used the stove twice a day and it worked great (one match to light every time even in windy conditions). The stove is unbelievably light and fits in a tiny sack which can easily be stored inside pots and pans for protection. It is also surprisingly stable considering its' size. The manual says the stove is compatible only with Coleman propane/butane canisters but it will work with any propane/butane canister. I used the MSR brand. I used one 4 oz. cannister in four days (7 meals plus boiling water for tea, hot chocolate). In summary, this is a great product for a great price. Similar stoves I looked at were heavier and twice the price.
I took this little guy out for its first run last weekend and was truly impressed with it. The package is ultra light, the arms are wide and secure, and it gets very hot very fast. I would absolutly recommend this for any backpacker. I used it with an MSR fuel canister, no problems what-so-ever. I have had the F1 Ultralight for over 4 years and can say that it's the best I've seen. It puts out more heat then the MSR PocketRocket, packs down smaller, is lighter... and costs less. Of course, with this stove, you are limited to the Isobutane/Propane type fuel canisters, so if you are planning to go someplace where those aren't available, this isn't the stove for you, but otherwise, it's a fantastic investment. I do most of my backpacking in the Sierra's and have never had any problems with it- the design is very clean. Remarkably compact and efficient, the Coleman F1 UltraLight stove weighs a mere 2.7 ounces. But don¿t let its diminutive size and weight deceive you -- it packs a powerful wallop with a 16,000-BTU burner. The F1 UltraLight stove boils a quart of water in less than three minutes. It's fully and easily adjustable from low-simmer to high. The F1 UltraLight is fueled by standard butane/propane cartridges, such as Coleman¿s model 3250 resealable, threaded canister with 7.75 ounces of fuel (not included). Burn time for the F1 UltraLight stove is up to 50 minutes on high, 120 minutes on low (per 230-gram cartridge). It features three serrated pot supports that fold together for an even smaller package to store and carry. Stuff sack included. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Get ready for serious cooking on the trails with the Coleman Exponent 9741-700 F1 Powerboost camp stove, which weighs an amazingly light 2.7 ounces. It offers fully adjustable heat up to 16,400 BTUs and can boil a liter of water in 3 minutes and 40 seconds. Thanks to Coleman's PerfectFlow feature, it's regulated for a constant, consistent burn (without flaring or flickering). Other features include a push-button electronic ignition for matchless lighting and serrated pan supports that fold away for compact storage. It uses resealable butane/propane cartridges (cartridge not included), and one 220-gram cartridge will provide up to 50 minutes on high or two hours on low setting. (Simply does not get any tougher than this......)
(Smaller/sleeker version of the old G-shocks)
(TOUGH STUFF.)
(Casio G-Shock 2900 Doesn't Do It) This is my second casio g-shock watch. My last one lasted for about 8 years and the battery died. The only reason I decided to buy a new one was because the old one was showing it's age. I expect this one to last just as long or longer. I bought this watch in 2003 as I wanted something which could take a beating, as my previous Casio had a band which broke.
This watch has a few things which make it stand out for me from the other standard G-Shock watches on the market. It has an edata memory system which allows you to store things such as passport numbers, phone numbers etc. This is very nice when traveling, since you don't always need to pull out your passport, and has proved very handy indeed. It also has a 10 year battery which has the original 2003 battery in case anyone wondered whether this was truly a 10 year battery. And please note, that I used this watch every day as my sole alarm, making it all the more impressive. One of the watches I was considering was an altimeter watch.....some of those have batteries which last only 9 months or so.
The band of the watch is a double closure band and takes some getting used to, with the the inner being velcro and the outer being a plastic latch. If you get it wet, it will remain wet; this can be an annoyance in cold weather, admittedly a small annoyance.
Definite 5 stars for a watch which could take any kind of beating one could imagine. This watch is smaller in diameter and sleeker than the monster G-shocks of a few years ago, although just as thick. The display of the seconds and date could be a little bigger. It's readable, just smaller than it could be. Buttons all work smoothly, band is comfortable although it could be a little longer. If you have fat wrists or want to wear it over a wet suit, you might have a problem.
Otherwise a great watch. One month and no problems. I just wish they would get rid of the gimmicky graphics. They just take up space and add nothing.
I have been buying Casio G-Shock watches for quite a few years. Even though this model is a bit on the large size it is still about 50% smaller than the last models they built. The 10-Year battery is only good for half that time. And ever since I replaced the battery myself I have been having problems with some of the buttons, in fact I can no longer adjust the time or alarm.
I love the G-Shock watches because of the raised bevel which keeps the glass from becoming scratched. All I need to keep me happy in a watch is a countdown timer, stopwatch and multiple alarms. G-Shock prices have never been too bad, and I just replace straps from time to time and eventually about every 5 years I just replace the whole watch with a new one.
Would I recommend this one? Sure. But being that they have such a huge offering of G-Shock watches to choose from on the Casio web-site check them all out first to see which one is most suited to you.
Having the problem with the buttons, these watches are probably only good for 5 years, which isn't too bad if your hard on watches. Being that I don't see anything else on the market that is similar I just bought myself another one.
UPDATE: I only had it a year and my reset button on the Countdown timer quit already! Shame on you Casio. This watch was given to members of the press at CES 2007 in January of the same year. Since that time the watch has been in repair twice due to button malfunction. When it worked it was fine. Just before service was necessary a button or buttons would begin to make a squeaking noise followed by failure. This watch may have a battery good for 10 years. but the greatest pleasure I received from this product was gained by throwing it in the trash. The shock-resistant design and extended battery life of the Casio Men's G-Shock Classic 10-Year Battery Watch make it a one-of-a-kind timepiece. This strong watch is constructed with a durable black resin case, a stationary black resin bezel, and a black resin wristband with an adjustable buckle clasp for a personalized fit. A durable mineral window shields the digital-gray dial face, which features the time display, as well as the day, date, and month. The digital-powered watch includes adjust, mode, reverse, and forward function buttons to fit your active life. It is water resistant to 600 feet and is backed by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty. Rerations < Casio Men's G-Shock Classic 10-Year Battery Watch #G2900F-1V >
